Free Agent Signing: The San Diego Padres have inked oft-injured star Mark Prior. Prior is recovering from surgery and will likely not see the mound until the All-Star break. – 12/26

MLB Trade: The Cincinnati Reds have traded OF Phenom Josh Hamilton to the Texas Rangers for RHP Edinson Volquez and LHP Daniel Herrera. It’s a bit surprising to see the Reds give up on the prospect who seems to have gotten his life and career back together. Hamilton is a surebet to hit over 30 homers in Texas if he can stay healthy. – 12/21

Phils Beef Up: The Philadelphia Phillies beefed up a bit by bringing in power-hitting OF Geoff Jenkins who will likely platoon in the outfield. Jenkins has huge power but only usually hits in between .250 and .260 – 12/20

Mariner Signing: The M’s have signed SP Carlos Silva to a four year 48 million dollar deal. Silva has a 3.18 ERA in 28.1 IP at Safeco Field during his career. – 12/20

Free Agent Signings: The Tampa Bay Devil Rays have signed OF Cliff Floyd. The Minnesota Twins landed a bargain when they signed cornerman Mike Lamb. – 12/17

Padre Signing: The SD Padres have signed OF Jim Edmonds to fill their open OF position as it looks like Mike Cameron is out the door. – 12/16

Japanese Pitcher Signs: The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed Hiroki Kuroda to a 3 year $35.2 million contract. – 12/15

D-Backs Bolster up Staff: The Arizona Diamondbacks have sent 6 minor league players to Oakland for STUD SP Dan Haren. – 12/14

Dodgers Welcome Kent Back: Jeff Kent has made it clear that he’ll be back to play another year for L.A. – 12/12

Astros/Orioles 5 for 1 Deal: The Houston Astros have acquired Miguel Tejada from the Baltimore Orioles for LHP Troy Patton, OF Luke Scott, RHP Matt Albers, RHP Dennis Sarfate and 3B Michael Costanzo. – 12/12

Steinbrenner Gang at it again: The Steinbrenner’s are at it once again trying to PURCHASE a World Series ring. The team is said to have major interest in Twins STUD LHP Johan Santana. Will it ever end? The better fit for the lefty would be Safeco field in Seattle where it’s possible that he could have a sub 1.00 ERA but will the Mariners open their pocket book? (No, we aren’t hitting the pipe. “I sed dat”) – 11/26

Cleveland Indians reliever Juan Lara was injured Sunday with life threatening injuries after his car was struck by a motorcyle. – 11/25

Toronto Blue Jays P Joe Kennedy has died. Cause of death is currently unknown. He was 28. – 11/23

The Los Angeles Angels have signed free agent OF Torii Hunter to a five year deal. – 11/21

MLB Trade: The Mets have traded P Guillermo Mota to the Brewers for C Johnny Estrada. – 11/20

Phillies SS Jimmy Rollins has been named N.L. MVP. – 11/20

MLB Trade: The Angels have sent SS Orlando Cabrera to the Chicago White Sox for SP Jon Garland. – 11/19

The Mike Lowell Sweepstakes: Boston win’s the fight for 3B Mike Lowell as he has decided to stick with the Red Sox and sign a 3 year deal. – 11/19

Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez was named the AL’s Most Valuable Player today. – 11/19

Free agent pitcher Tom Glavine turned down a lucrative offer and signed a much cheaper deal with the Atlanta Braves so he could be closer to his family. – 11/18

from the Chicago Cubs for IF-OF Omar Infante.
This move helps the Tigers defense while allowing for a platoon with big
bopper Marcus Thames. – 11/12

R.O.Y. Honors: Go to Brewers 3B Ryan Braun who edged out Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki. – 11/12

No Deal: Rumors out of NY are that the Yanks and Pads were talking Jake Peavy for Phil Hughes and Melky Cabrera but nothing ever came of it. – 11/9

The Angels have been showing big interest in Marlins heavy hitter Miguel

. The Marlins have made it loud and clear that any trade
involving their big bopper would have to have Howie Kendrick coming east
or it ain’t happening. – 11/9

Say it ain’t So(sa): Sammy Sosa has made it public that he wants a 7 million dollar contract to put off retirement and play next year. Not gonna happen! – 11/3

The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially named Joe Torre their new
Manager signing him to a three year contract. – 11/1

MLB Trade: The Detroit Tigers have acquired SS Edgar Renteria from the Atlanta Braves for RHP Jair Jurrjens and outfielder Gorkys Hernandez. Great move for the Tigers! – 10/29

Rumors: The word is Joe Torre may become the next
Manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers. In New York, the Yankees are said to be offering Joe Giardi the spot vacated by Torre. – 10/29

Alex Rodriguez has opted out of his contract with the Yankees. Prospective teams that he may go to: Angels, Giants or Tigers. NY radio announcer Michael Kay also thinks the Red Sox and Mets may make a play for A-Rod. – 10/29

The Atlanta Braves have announced that they will not attempt to re-sign star outfielder Andruw Jones. – 10/2

Despite speculation that slugger Barry Bonds may join his old skipper Jim Leyland, Leyland has made it public that the Tigers are not interested in signing Bonds next year. – 10/1
