Broncos vs Chiefs Player Props for Monday Night Football

Monday Night Football closes out Week 1 with two AFC West rivals in different positions. The Broncos are the defending division champs. The Chiefs missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014. Both starting quarterbacks are returning from serious injuries suffered in the January playoffs. That combination — rusty quarterbacks, an elite pass rush facing a compromised offensive line, and a game that projects to be close and defensive — sets up specific player prop opportunities.
Here are four props that align with the expected game flow.
Patrick Mahomes UNDER 223.5 Passing Yards
This is the strongest play on the board. Kansas City’s left tackle Josh Simmons is out for the game, meaning undrafted rookie Khalil Benson is starting on Mahomes’s blind side. Against a Denver defense that led the entire NFL with 68 sacks last year and finished second in pressure rate, that’s a mismatch that will play out on every dropback. Add in his specific struggles against Vance Joseph’s Broncos defense (65.5% completion, 2 TDs, 7 sacks in the past two meetings), and this looks like a spot where Mahomes checks down repeatedly, gets hit often, and finishes in the 180-210 range.
Bo Nix UNDER 0.5 Interceptions
Nix’s biggest strength as a quarterback is ball security. He finished 2025 with a clean rate that ranked among the best in the league, and he’s now in his third year running Sean Payton’s system. In a close divisional road game where Denver’s game plan will be built around controlling clock and letting the defense win the field position battle, Nix isn’t going to be taking risky downfield shots. Payton will call a conservative game — short passes, safe throws, and lots of screens to give the Broncos’ backfield room to work. That’s the profile of a game where Nix throws for 200-220 yards without turning the ball over. The Under 0.5 INTs is the cleanest read.
Kenneth Walker III OVER 16.5 Receiving Yards
When Mahomes faces heavy pressure — which he will all night behind a rookie left tackle — his primary escape valve is the checkdown. Walker joined the Chiefs this offseason and profiles as exactly that kind of safety-valve target. He caught 133 passes over four seasons in Seattle and consistently produces in the 15-25 receiving yard range when his quarterback is under duress. In a game where Mahomes will get sacked multiple times and needs to unload the ball quickly, Walker’s usage as a checkdown option should generate the modest receiving production needed to clear 16.5 yards. Four or five short receptions gets him there.
Nik Bonitto Anytime Sack
Bonitto led the Broncos with 14 sacks in 2025 and is one of the most disruptive edge rushers in the league. With Kansas City starting an undrafted rookie at left tackle, Bonitto has a matchup advantage from the opening snap. His role in Vance Joseph’s scheme is to attack the quarterback on every third down and situational passing situation, and the setup at Arrowhead specifically favors him getting home. Even conservatively, Bonitto should record at least one sack in this game. The number typically prices around +130 to +160 at most books, which is a fair number given his production and the matchup.
