The Arizona Cardinals finally dropped a game (17-3 to
the St. Louis Rams) to fall from the unbeaten ranks in the NFL. It was unlike
previous games for the Cards where they have averaged 20 points or more
per contest. The Cards QB, Kevin Kolb was sacked nine (9) times! He actually
had his helmet knocked off a couple of times too. Needless to say, the Arizona
Cardinals had an off day. Now they take on the struggling Buffalo
Bills
which is just what they need to get back on track. Will the
Bills continue to limp defensively? The Bills have allowed 550 yards of
total offense in each of their last two games; the first team to do so since
the 1950 New York Yanks. Arizona is certainly in the driver’s seat for this
game as long as they can make a few adjustments after last week’s letdown.

The Cards will need to get their running game going as they only gained 45 yards on 17 carries against the Rams last week. They have the tools offensively in Kolb, Fitzgerald, but they need to get Larod (Williams is out with a shoulder injury) some room to run. Arizona’s O-line had trouble stopping the pass rush last week thus the 9 sacks and multiple hurried throws by Kolb-hopefully for the Cards they will not allow such numbers this week against the high school JV Bills squad.

The Bills are a professional team but their recent performances are putrid-not too many teams give up more than a thousand yards in back to back games. With AZ at home after a tough loss the Bills will be fresh meat and the books should move the line even more. This game may be the easiest pick all weekend. I don’t see Buffalo improving anytime soon. The Bills are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games as the dog on the road while Arizona is 5-0 ATS following a SU loss.

In the matchup categories Arizona only gets the nod in two areas: yards allowed and time of possession, but that’s just paper folks, we know paper is pretty darn thin. Match-up, scratch-up, the Cards should crush the Bills this weekend at University of Phoenix Stadium in sunny Glendale. The Bills are just to banged up to compete at the level they need to have any chance at winning.

You know it’s a depressing situation when Bill’s head coach Chan Gailey says “I have no answers and no excuses. I don’t have the answers and I have to find the answers. That’s my job.” (Sports.Yahoo.com). Gailey will have to find answers quickly or the Bills season will be in jeopardy and we all know how losses ultimately fall on the head coach. Meanwhile AZ is in no way panicking after just one loss but they do need to balance out the offense and protect Kolb more than they did last week.

The Cards are undefeated at home (3-0) and look to stay that way against a struggling Bills squad. I Like AZ to get back on track this week with another home W for the fans in the desert. Kolb gets the protection after taking a beat-down last week and the Cards runaway with this game.

Wilson’s Pick to Cover the Point Spread: The Cards cover this one easy! Buffalo is no match for the home team-Cards saturate the endzone-Cards 42, Bills 13. Luck to ya.
