Super Bowl XLV Props

Super Bowl XVL Props
by Badger of Predictem.com

The Team Props section for Super Bowl 45 at most sportsbooks is a long list of just about every play in the game coin flip, 1st first down, first coachs challenge all the way down to who scores last. It can be rather daunting, and since its usually a giant crapshoot and thus a waste of your bankroll, I suggest discretion on these Super Bowl XVL proposition bets.

These Super Bowl XVL prop bets can be bet at BoDog Sportsbook.

Super Bowl XLV – How long will it take Christina Aguilera to sing the National Anthem? Over/Under 1 minute 50 seconds

Well, Ive seen the number listed as low as 129.5 at other sites, and if you google it, the actual song is one minute and four seconds long. I know shes a windbag, but an extra 45 seconds? Ill take the under of 1:50 and God help us if Im wrong.

Super Bowl XLV – How Many Times will FOX show Jerry Jones on TV during the Game? Over/Under 3

(Wager is on the number of times Jerry Jones will appear on TV during the Game (from kick off until final whistle).

Im pretty sure that Jerry Jones had this as a clause in the original Super Bowl hosting contract with the NFL must show Me in and out of commercials at least ten times. No seriously, one shot is all hes worth, especially since the Cowboys are nowhere to be found this season. Under of 3.

Super Bowl XLV – How Many Times will FOX mention Brett Favre on TV during the Game? Over/Under 2.5

(Wager is on the number of times Brett Favre will be mentioned on TV during the Game (from kick off until final whistle). Live commentary only, Any Taped or Past Video does not count towards wager, must say Brett Favre exactly.)

For the love of the Lord please, please, please leave him out of this. Let Aaron Rodgers enjoy HIS moment without mention of Brett. If this was an ESPN telecast Id be all over it, since Favre and ESPN seem to hold each others wood. But its a Fox program, and Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are more couth. Im taking the under of 2.5.

Super Bowl XLV – How Many Times will FOX mention Lockout on TV during the Game? Over/Under 2.5

(Wager is on the number of times Lockout will be mentioned on TV during the Game (from kick off until final whistle). Live commentary only, Any Taped or Past Video does not count towards wager, must say Lockout exactly.)

If you think about it, even if Buck and Aikman only talk about the impending labor strike just once during the entire telecast, they almost have to go over the number automatically. Picture this Joe: Well Troy, we said wed only bring up the potential lockout once, and this is the time. Troy: Yeah, the lockout is something that is on the minds of all the players right now. Joe: And Roger Godell has already declared there will be no lockout see what I mean. Im on the over of 2.5 here.

Super Bowl XLV – How many current NFL Players will be arrested during Super Bowl Week? Over 0.5 +150 – Under 0.5 -200

When I first read this prop I giggled a little. But then when I thought about it more, this could be the best prop bet on the board at BoDog. Nobody is THAT stupid, right? Give me the under, even if its at the huge -200 juice. Its easy money, right?!

Super Bowl XLV – Which Super Bowl commercial will have a higher rating on USA Today’s annual Ad Meter?
Bud Light11/4
Budweiser11/4
Doritos 11/2
Pepsi Max 6/1
GoDaddy.com 10/1
Skechers12/1
Teleflora15/1
Other5/2

For my money this bet comes down to either Bud or Bud Light every year, so BoDog is very smart to make you choose between which one. Give me Bud Light at 11/4, and I might consider a small flyer wager on Other at 5/2 since theres always a newcomer to the advertising scene that makes a splash.

Sam Shields (GB) CB 35/1
Cullen Jenkins (GB) DE 50/1
Brandon Jackson (GB) RB 50/1
Field 15/1

Alright, this may be a square bet and it certainly isnt very glamorous, but this award usually goes to the quarterback (23 of the previous 44 MVPs). Plus, I think this game will be Rodgers coming out party. Ill take Rodgers at 7/4 even if he is the chalk.
