La Liga this season will probably be a 2-team race between defending champion Barcelona and newly stacked Real Madrid.

Even though Barcelona still has the best odds to win La Liga this season can they keep up with Real Madrid with all their new stars on the club? Barcelona will be solid again this season, but Samuel Eto’o is gone and they need Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who they signed in the off-season from Inter Milan, to provide some big-time offense this season and stay healthy. The defending La Liga and Champion League champions are still loaded and they still have Lionel Messi, but they will battle all season long with Real Madrid for the Spanish title.

Real Madrid spent well over 200 million Euros in the off-season, as they signed star players Christianaldo Ronaldo, Kaka, Xabi Alonso, and Karim Benzema. How can Real not win La Liga with these studs on the pitch? These guys are all superstars, but they need to gel and learn how to play together.

Sevilla has the third best odds to win La Liga this season, but they are a long shot. They are listening to offers for striker David Villa, but if he moves it will hurt Sevilla’s offense.

The other teams that have a legit shot in finishing in the top 4 (automatic Champions League berth), but are long shots to win La Liga are Atletico Madrid, Villarreal, and Valencia.
