Atlanta Braves at Los Angeles Dodgers
NL Division Series Game 2
Sunday, October 4, 2026
8:00 PM ET, Dodger Stadium
The Dodgers are home favorites at -147 in Game 2 of the NLDS against the Braves at Dodger Stadium, with Los Angeles leading the series 1-0. Atlanta sits at +126 on the moneyline. The total is 7.5. My play is the Under 7.5.
Blake Snell is the entry point here. The Dodgers’ Game 2 starter went 4-1 with a 1.90 ERA and 55 strikeouts in an injury-shortened regular season, and he’s been at his best in October for Los Angeles, posting a 0.86 ERA across three postseason starts last year. He enters this start as a sharper pitcher than the one Atlanta saw in May.
Atlanta’s offense was held in check in Game 1. Tarik Skubal retired 15 straight Braves hitters on his way to six strong innings in the Dodgers’ 5-3 win, and Atlanta’s lineup managed little until late. The Braves posted a .696 OPS against left-handers this season, about 5% below league average, and Snell gives them another tough lefty to solve.
Atlanta’s pitching situation adds to the case for a lower-scoring game. Walt Weiss hasn’t committed to a Game 2 starter, but all signs point to Chris Sale. That’s a pitcher who threw 95 pitches in Wild Card Game 1 and another 21 in relief in the Game 3 clincher on Thursday. Even if Sale starts, he’s unlikely to work deep, and Grant Holmes and rookie JR Ritchie are the backup options. A short Sale outing followed by Atlanta’s bullpen is the type of setup where the Braves try to grind out a low-scoring game rather than trade runs.
The Dodgers’ bullpen is in great shape behind Snell. Los Angeles used four relievers in Game 1 (Brock Stewart, Alex Vesia, Tanner Scott and Evan Phillips), and none of them threw more than 15 pitches. That’s a fully rested relief corps ready to shorten the game once Snell exits.
The honest risk is Snell’s history against this lineup. He’s 0-3 with a 3.49 ERA in six career appearances against Atlanta, and the Braves tagged him for four runs in three innings in May before he landed on the injured list. The Dodgers also hit three homers in Game 1, with Teoscar Hernández, Kyle Tucker and Max Muncy all going deep. But Snell has been a different pitcher since returning, Atlanta’s offense was quiet against the lefty in Game 1, and both bullpens will be built around preventing a big inning.
Realistic outcomes: Dodgers 4, Braves 2 (6 total); Dodgers 3, Braves 2 (5 total); Braves 4, Dodgers 3 (7 total); or Dodgers 5, Braves 3 (8 total, over). Three of four scenarios stay under 7.5.
