MLB Notes: The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled phenom P Trevor Bauer and will start him on Thursday against the Braves. Bauer has racked up an impressive 11-1 record with a 2.19 ERA in AA/AAA ball. He will replace Joe Saunders in the rotation. The Chicago White Sox have acquired 3B Kevin Youkilis from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for P Zach Stewart and utility player Brent Lillibridge. The Chicago Cubs have called up heavy hitting 1B Anthony Rizzo. Rizzo has 23 ding dongs in only 69 games in AAA. He hasn’t been able to hit Major League pitching in the past though.

Comeback Brewing: There’s a great comeback story brewing in Beantown. Remember old power pitcher Mark Prior? Well, he’s back and he appears to be healthy. Prior is in Triple-A (Pawtucket) and has fanned an unbelievable 19 batters in just 8 innings! His fastball is said to be in the low 90”s and his nasty curve is “working.” This is a GREAT story as this guy has worked really hard to come back from multiple frustrating injuries. – 6/20
