This coming Monday night, we will see two teams showdown in a game that will feature the two biggest surprises of week one. I seriously thought the Jets would be on of the leagues worst teams and I had no idea that the Colts would look so bad against Buffalo, but, any given Sunday. The Jets are coming off of a 31-10 over the Cleveland Browns while the Colts high flying offense was held in check by the Buffalo Bills in a 27-14 loss. Of course, I should not be so high on the Jets for beating the Browns, but they did look pretty dang solid. As for the Colts, they need to fix things, fast.

Although the Colts are coming off a horrible road loss, they are still favored in this game by a touchdown at home. The total points in this one is set at 47 combined. Currently, the Colts are getting 53% of the action while the over under is a straight up 50% on each side. I can see this game going either way from a point spread standpoint. Lets break it down!

The Indianapolis Colts are my pick to win the AFC Championship this season but if they play like they did last week, they may not even sniff the postseason. Now, lets give Buffalo some credit thought. Rex Ryan had the defense clicking, and who in the world would have thought Tyrod Taylor would run the offense like he did? However, no excuses, the Colts have to play better. Andrew Luck was held in check passing for just 243 yards and two touchdowns. That actually sounds like a decent line, but if you saw the game, you would realize much of that was after the Bills had put the game away and was just playing to run the clock down. The Colts defense has not been stellar for some time, but this past Sunday, they looked pretty bad. Tyrod Taylor only passed for 195 yards, but the ground game was dominant. The Colts gave up 145 yards on the ground and two rushing scores. I will say that the Jets probably will not create the problems that the Bills offense did, but they still need to step up and play better.

After losing quarterback Geno Smith due to being busted in the jaw by one of his own teammates, the Jets fans thought this season would be a mess. I mean, it still could be, but hey, they are 1-0 and current starting quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick did a solid job on Sunday. Fitzpatrick passed for 179 yards and two scores while running back, Chris Ivory, ran for 91 yards and scored two times himself. The New York Jets will have a much tougher task on their hands this week though. They are headed into Indy to face a pretty ticked off and desperate Colts team. New York will need to pull out all the stops and do whatever it takes to get a much needed second win of the season. The key is simplekeep Andrew Luck off the field. The defense will need a few stops and the offense will need to string together some long scoring drives. If they can do this, I could potentially see a close game. If they allow Luck and Gore to get rollinggame over.

I hate picking NFL games that have a spread over 4 points or so, but here we are with a 7 point one. 90% of the time, I pick the dog in these NFL games. Professional football if I remember correctly, has a rate of 78% of games over the last six seasons that have been decided by 5 points or less. Do not quote me on that stat but it is something in that ballpark. Okay, whatever, take the Colts. I think Indianapolis comes out and blows the Jets out. I like the Colts to win this game 31-13.
