This Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles will travel far west to take on the Oakland Raiders. The Eagles came into this season with lots of high expectation (just like every season) and thus far has fallen shortin a big way. On the other hand, Oakland came into the 2013-2014 campaign not looking for any major success, and thats exactly what they have got. Oakland comes into this game at 3-4 overall and sitting 4th place in the AFC West, while Philly is 3-5, yet somehow sits in 2nd place in the NFC Eastern division. This game is hard to breakdown since both teams are very hard to read. You never know which offense and/or defense will show up. Will the Eagles come out with their high flying offense that runs 100 plays in a quarter? Or will they be the Eagles we saw last week that gets shut out by the Giants? Yes, I know they scored 7 points, but that was the defense.not the unstoppable Chip Kelly offense. The Raiders are a small home favorite, giving up 2.5 points to the Eagles. I like this line and think it is right on the money. This game will be a total toss up and will probably come down to whoever makes plays late in the 4th quarter.

After week one this season, everyone was ready to hand the Eagles the Lombardi TrophyI wasnt. The Eagles had one good week against the lowly Redskins and everyone is acting like they are the 1999-2000 St Louis Rams. It is the NFL people, slow your roll. All it took was a little bit of film, and for Mike Glass Jaw Vick to get banged up, and the Eagles were right back in the depths of mediocrity. Currently, the Eagles are ranked 2nd in the NFL in rushing, and 15th in passing, but they just cant seem to translate it into wins. The defense is mediocre at best, and the offense just cant always put the ball in the endzone like they should. Not only that, but the quarterback situation is messy. Mike Vick is hurt (as always), Nick Foles has a concussion, and rookie Matt Barkley stinks. This team needs a true QB to get the job done, and right now they just dont have it. In Phillys defense, three of their losses were to really good teams. They lost to Denver, Kansas City, and San Diego. Those three games are a tough task for anyone, but after week one, werent the Eagles supposed to make light work of everyone who got in their way??? This will not be an easy road game for the Eagles at all. They will need to play some defense in order to stay in this game. Raiders QB, Terrell Pryor is starting to find his groove, and if the Eagles defense cant pressure him, he may make light work of that secondary. Oh, I meant to ask the Eagles fans..do you miss Andy Reid yet?

The Oakland Raiders are 3-4 this season, but coming off a big win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Terrelle Pryor had the play of the week with his 93 yard touchdown run to open the game, and from that play on, the Raiders never looked back. The Raiders defense isnt too shabby actually. They are ranked 6th in the NFL in run defense, and they rank 9th in actual offensive rushing yards. If the Raiders can keep the Eagles off the field and make whoever is going to play quarterback for Philly win by throwing the ball, the Raiders can win this thing with ease. Oakland will not come out airing the ball out. They will more than likely want to pound the ball and run the clock and shorten the game. On the surface and on paper, I like Oakland in this game. I am not saying it will be a blowout, but as far as Im concerned, the right team is favored.

Bobs Pick to Cover the Point Spread: I am not one to hate on teams. I try to stay somewhat objective when making my picks and forming my opinions, but nothing makes me happier than to see this Eagles team lose. After week one, the media and Eagles fans wanted to crown this the greatest team of all time. There are a few problems with that: 1) Mike Vick is your quarterback. For every stellar performance, there will be 3 bad outings and 2 injuries to follow. 2) Philly has no defense. 3) A college coachlol. Come on guys! Lets be real. The Eagles are a side show. Yea it is cute to see them try to play so fast, but that is not what matters. What matters in football are wins and losses. And Philly has more losses than wins. Ok, I will stop bashing Philly, because everything I said really has no bearing on this game. To be honest, I can see this game going either way, simply because neither team is very good. I will make this simple. Roll with the home team. I like Oakland to squeak out some crazy 20-16 or 17-13 type game. PICK: OAKLAND RAIDERS -2.5
