This weekend, the 0-4 Pittsburgh Steelers (thats right),
will travel to face the New York Jets. These two teams have shocked many
so far. No one would have ever thought the Steelers would be winless after
four games, and the Jets have not only strung together a few wins, but they
just knocked off the Atlanta Falcons at home this past Monday night. The
line opens with the Jets being favored by three points at home and the over/under
set at 41.5. Can the Steelers finally get that first win of the season,
or will the Jets keep shocking people?

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been bad this season, really bad. They come in winless, and to be honest, they have not even been competitive. They were totally destroyed by the Bears, and the 34-27 loss to the Vikings wasnt even close until the 4th quarter when they made a little run. The main problem with the Steelers this season on the offensive side of the ball is the fact that they simply cannot run the ball. They come in ranked 31st out of 32 NFL teams in rushing yards, gaining just a little over 55 yards a game. Big Ben has done the best he can keeping his team in these games, but it just hasnt been enough. He ranks 9th in the NFL in passing with 1,231 yards in the air, but has only has five touchdowns to show for it. The defense which is usually the Steelers bread and butter has not looked like the hard-nosed Steeler D we are used to. They play the pass pretty well, but teams havent had to really air it out due to them allowing over 120 yards on the ground per contest. This will be tough match-up for Pittsburgh since the Jets defense is probably the most talented group they will have faced this season. The key to this game for the Steelers is simple, force turnovers. Geno Smith, the Jets QB, has been prone to do that this season, but on Monday night in Atlanta, he was able to keep the ball safe, which led to that last second victory. If the Steelers can get early lead and force a pick or two, they should be ok, but will they?

Talk about a surprise team in the NFLwow. The New York Jets come in at 3-2 and are only one game behind their division leading New England Patriots coming into this week. The Jets have won some very tight contests, but they have won them, and that is what matters. They just came off an upset of the Atlanta Falcons with a last second field goal to win 30-28. They have also squeaked out a one point win over Tampa Bay, and then beat the Buffalo Bills by a touchdown. Their losses are to New England (13-10), and the Tennessee Titans (38-13). The Titans loss was by far the worst game of their young season, but they immediately bounced back with the win over Atlanta which put that loss out of their minds. I am starting to like this team. I know early in the season I said this could be the worst team in footballwell, that isnt close to the case right now. Geno Smith does have a lot of improving to do, but the New York fan base is starting to believe that he may be their guy in the upcoming years. Rex Ryan has done a great job of getting that Jets defense back to their old ways ranking 2nd in all of the NFL against the rush, and nearly ranking in the top 10 in passing defense. The Jets can win this game easily, and here is howprotect the ball, and play defense. If New York does what they did against the Falcons, and that is stuff the run, and protect the ball, they get this win, and they get it easily.

Bobs Pick to Cover the Point Spread: I may be crazy here but I like the Jets a lot at home. They are 2-0 in MetLife Stadium while Pittsburgh is winless on the road, and well, at home all season. The Jets have momentum, especially after the upset on Monday night. Yes, the one less day rest could affect them, but I still like the Jets. Another reason I like the Jets is because 61% of the betting public is on the Steelers right now. Fade the public, fade the winless team, and put your money on the better team so far this season. PICK: THE NEW YORK JETS -3
