Week 9 Thursday Night Football:
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Miami Dolphins Pick (8:25PM EST) – 10/31
Monday through Wednesday NFL Notes: Dolphins OL Jonathan Martin has apparently left the team after a spat with some teammates. Rams RB Zac Stacy is dealing with an ankle sprain and has been limited in practice. Falcons WR Roddy White has yet to practice. The Lions have placed WR Ryan Broyles on the IR with a torn achilles’ tendon. Titans RB Shonn Greene may see as many as 15 carries per game per coach Munchak. Seahawks WR Sidney Rice tore his ACL and is done for the year. The Rams will start QB Kellen Clemens Sunday. Both Arian Foster and Ben Tate will be game time decisions Sunday night vs. Indy. The Eagles will start Nick Foles at QB vs. Oakland. Dolphins WR Brandon Gibson will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. He’ll be replaced by Rishard Matthews. Rams G Harvey Dahl suffered an MCL injury Sunday and his status is unkwown. Patriots T Sebastian Vollmer will miss the rest of the season with a broken leg. Bengals CB Leon Hall will miss the rest of the season with a torn achilles’. The trade deadline came and passed and the only player to switch uniforms was NT Isaac Sopoaga (to N.E.). The Jags will keep Chad Henne as their starting QB. Cowboys G Brian Waters will miss the rest of the season with a triceps injury. Broncos TE Julius Thomas tweaked his ankle and his status is unknown. Bengals MLB Rey Maualuga sprained his MCL and will miss a month. The Browns have named Jason Campbell the Week 9 starter vs. Baltimore. The TB Bucs have placed WR Mike Williams on the IR with a bad hammy. Tiquan Underwood will take over the number 2 receiver spot in TB. – 10/30

Friday NFL Notes: Cardinals RB Andre Ellington will see more carries Sunday with Rashard Mendenhall unlikely to play. Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman has played himself out of the RB rotation by fumbling multiple times. He won’t be active this Sunday. Patriots WR Danny Amendola is expected to play Sunday. Packers WR Jarrett Boykin will get another start in place of James Jones. Falcons RB Jason Snelling is OUT Sunday as is WR Roddy White. – 10/25
Thursday NFL Notes: Bills RB C.J. Spiller (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday’s tilt vs. the Saints. Falcons WR Roddy White missed practice Thursday making his status for Sunday not good. Rumor out of Dallas is that RB DeMarco Murray is going to play this week. Pats DB Aqib Talib is expected to play and cover Mike Wallace on Sunday. Niners WR Michael Crabtree is expected back in a month. Packers TE JerMichael Finley has stated that he will return to the NFL to continue his career. There was some question after he received a spinal chord bruise. Giants WR Hakeem Nicks is starting to be exposed for losing his ability to separate from DB’s. Look for Rueben Randle to get more opportunities during this time of turmoil. – 10/24

Wednesday NFL Notes: The Cleveland Browns have benched QB Brandon Weeden in favor of Jason Campbell. Believe it or not, there is a rumor that 43 year old Jeff Garcia has reached out to Cleveland to offer his services. WTF? Falcons RB Steven Jackson might return this week. Rumor out of the Cowboys camp is that they may shut down WR Miles Austin for a while. Don’t expect them to rush him back as Terrance Williams is playing lights out in his place. The NFL has reduced Brandon Meriweather’s suspension from 2 games to 1. Saints TE Jimmy Graham did not practice Wed. If he can’t go this week, Ben Watson would take his place in the starting lineup. Eagles QB Michael Vick took all the first team reps Wednesday and is a go to start this week vs. the Giants. Packers WR James Jones did not practice Wed and is doubtful vs. the Vikings. Vikings QB Josh Freeman has a concussion. We’re not sure if it’s in his head or right arm though. Bills RB C.J. Spiller didn’t practice Wednesday. There are rumors that he may sit this weekend which would give Fred Jackson a big load. The Baltimore Ravens worked out free agent RB Beanie Wells. Jags RB Chad Henne will start despite Blaine Gabbert being healthy. Seahawks WR Percy Harvin will be back soon. – 10/23
Tuesday NFL Notes: The St. Louis Rams have signed QB’s Austin Davis and Brady Quinn. Despite having a horrid MNF performance, the Vikings have announced that Josh Freeman will start in Week 8. The Detroit Lions have released TE Tony Scheffler. Eagles QB Michael Vick is taking 1st team reps in practice. The Browns are unsure whether they’ll start Brandon Weeden or Jason Campbell on Sunday. Andrew Quarless will start at TE in place of Jermichael Finley. Hes not much of a pass catcher though. The Steelers have released RB Isaac Redman. – 10/22

Monday NFL Notes: Bears QB Jay Cutler injured his groin Sunday and will miss a month of action. Josh McCown will take over the reigns. Giants RB Brandon Jacobs is doubtful for MNF. Peyton Hillis will likely get the brunt of the carries. Look for the Giants to take to the air more than usual tonight. Eagles QB Nick Foles suffered a concussion Sunday. Michael Vick’s health is still in question and Matt Barkley looked as horrible as any QB we’ve ever seen, so the Eagles may be in trouble in Week 8. Rams QB Sam Bradford tore his ACL and is done for the season. Kellen Clemens will take over at QB and be thrown to the wolves as the Rams play Seattle in Week 8. Bears LB Lance Briggs will miss 4-6 weeks with a shoulder injury. Skins DB Brandon Meriweather is expected to face a suspension for having two personal fouls vs. the Bears Sunday. Texans LB Brian Cushing tore his LCL and broke his fibula and is done for the season. Packers TE Jermichael Finley was carted off the field with a neck injury and is out indefinitely. Colts WR Reggie Wayne tore his right ACL and is done for the season. Buccaneers RB Doug Martin tore his labrum in his shoulder and is likely out for the season. Mike James takes over as the team’s primary ball carrier. Broncos DB Champ Bailey left Sunday’s game with an apparent foot injury. Bengals CB Leon Hall tore his achilles’ tendon and will miss the rest of the season. Skins S Reed Doughty sustained a concussion Sunday. The poor Wash. defense is getting worse. Texans RB Arian Foster left Sunda’s game with a pulled hammy. – 10/21

Michael Cox and Peyton Hillis are his backups. Patriots CB Aqib Talib will miss this week’s game vs. the Jets with a bad hip. In a surprising move, the Titans are talking about starting Jake Locker on Sunday. This despite reports that he was walking with a limp 2 days ago. Pats TE Rob Gronkowski is still listed as questionable for week 7, however, he has been medically cleared to play. – 10/19

Thursday NFL Notes: The Houston Texans have announced that Case Keenum will start at QB Sunday. Falcons WR Roddy White sat out again Thursday and is doubtful to play Sunday vs. TB. Look for Harry Douglas and Tony Gonzalez to get a ton of targets. Packers WR James Jones sat out Thursday. Jarrett Boykin will step in as a WR2 if he’s unable to go. RGIII has made comment that he needs to run more. Not much brewing today. We’ll add more info as it breaks. – 10/17
Wednesday NFL Notes: The Bills have announced that QB E.J. Manuel will miss another 4-6 weeks. Larry Fitzgerald and Marshawn Lynch are expected to play Thursday. It’s been confirmed that Pats WR Danny Amendola suffered a concussion Sunday. It’s not likely that he’ll suit up for Week 7. Eagles QB Michael Vick will not play this week. Cowboys backup RB Lance Dunbar didn’t practice Wednesday which means that Joseph Randle will get most of the touches Sunday. The Minnesota Vikings have announced that Josh Freeman will start on Monday. Packers WR James Jones is questionable for this week’s game vs. Cleveland. Cecil Shorts is said to still be in a lot of pain and is doutbful to suit up vs. the Chargers Sunday. TB WR Mike Williams has resumed practicing and should start Sunday vs. Atlanta. – 10/16
Week 7 Byes: New Orleans Saints and Oakland Raiders.
Tuesday NFL Notes: Patriots LB Jerod Mayo will likely miss the rest of the season with a torn pec (OUCH!) Packers WR Randall Cobb has been placed on IR with a broken leg and will miss a minimum of 6 weeks. Jarrett Boykin is expected to fill his spot in the lineup and there’s rumors that Jermichael Finley may see some action at WR. The NYG have waived RB Da’Rel Scott. Jets WR Clyde Gates was placed on the IR with a shoulder injury and he’s done for the year. Falcons WR Roddy White was seen hobbling Tuesday putting his status in question. Harry Douglas would likely be Ryan’s top target on Sunday should White not be able to go. With DeMarco Murray and Lance Dunbar out, look for Joseph Randle to get a ton of touches this weekend. Giants RB David Wilson is expected to miss at least 3-4 more weeks. Brandon Jacobs will start in his place. Vikings S Harrison Smith has turf toe. Eli Manning and Crew are going to light up Minny on MNF. The Vikes secondary is horrible right now. Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (hammy) is expected to play Thursday night vs. Seattle. – 10/15
Monday NFL Notes: Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray sprained his left MCL and is likely to miss time. Joseph Randle will start in his absence. Pats WR Danny Amendola left Sunday’s game with a head injury. He was obviously concussed and will miss time. Dude is tough though! He wanted to go back in! The Bills have signed QB Matt Flynn. The signing means that they may be worried about Thad Lewis’s foot sprain. Packers WR Randall Cobb will miss multiple weeks with a knee injury. Saints TE Jimmy Graham is said to have suffered a foot injury Sunday and his status is unknown at this point. Texans S Danieal Manning injuried his right knee and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. He’ll be replaced by rookie DJ Swearinger. Jets backup RB Mike Goodson tore both is ACL and MCL in Sunday’s game vs. Pitt. Packers LB Nick Perry has a broken fit and is out indefinitely. He had been replacing Clay Matthews. Jags WR Cecil Short suffered an uppery body injury and his status is unknown. He’s done for the season. TB WR Mike Williams is expected to be back in the starting lineup for week 7. Broncos LB Von Miller will be in action week 7 as his suspension is over. Pats DB Aqib Talib strained his hip flexor and his status is unknown. The Seattle Seahawks are hinting that WR Percy Harvin’s return is closer than expected. Packers WR Randall Cobb banged up his knee but is said to be O.K. Cowboys B DeMarcus Ware will miss a month with a quad strain. – 10/14

Post Week 2 NFL Notes: Titans RB Shonn Greene had his knee scoped and will miss a few weeks. Jackie Battle will fill in during his absence. Phins nose tackle Paul Soliai tweaked his knee and is looking doubtful for week 3. Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung suffered a partial tear of his plantar plate (toe) and is listed as doubtful for Week 3. Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady will miss extended time with a Lisfranc sprain. TB safety Dashon Goldson has been suspended for a game for the helmet to helmet hit on Darren Sproles Sunday. Bolts WR Malcom Floyd is doubtful for Week 3 with a neck issue. Lions RB Reggie Bush is questionable with a knee stinger. Texans WR Andre Johnson will likely play in Week 3 despite suffering a concussion in Sunday’s win. Johnson has become the security blanket for Matt Schaub and leads the NFL in targets with 29. Ravens RB Ray Rice is questionable after injuring his hip flexor. Bernard Pierce is a sufficient backup so expect Baltimore to not be in any rush to get RR back on the field. Packers RB Eddie Lacy suffered a concussion and is doubtful for week 3. James Starks will start in his place. Jags RB Maurice Jones-Drew sprained a tendon Sunday and is very questionable to face Seattle in Week 3. The Jags are probably going to get blasted so we believe he will sit. Cleveland Browns QB Brandon Weeden left Sunday’s game with a right thumb injury. Jason Campbell relieved him and looked horrible. The Browns are in trouble if Weeden’s injury is serious. Browns WR Josh Gordon returns this week from a 2 week drug related suspension. The Panthers suffered a huge blow losing free safety Charles Godfrey for the season with an achilles’ injury. Rams OL Rodger Saffold suffered an unidentified knee injury and is ?. Raiders SS Tyvon Branch hurt his ankle Sunday and is out indefinitely. NYG TE Brandon Myers suffered a rib injury Sunday and his status is unknown. Falcons RB Steven Jackson suffered some sort of quad injury Sunday. This is troublesome because he’s missed time in the past with the same problem. – 9/16

Giants LB Dan Connor was placed on injured reserve with a neck injury. He’ll miss the rest of the season. Falcons WR Roddy White missed practice Thursday. He’s expected to suit up, but his role will probably be minimal. Harry Douglas should have some nice fantasy appeal this week. Jags CB Alan Ball suffered a groin injury in practice Thursday. Texans DB Ed Reed will be a gametime decision Sunday (hip). Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (quad) is probably for Week 2. – 9/12

Reggie Bush suffered a discloated thumb and groin tweak but is probably for Sunday vs. Minnesota. Pats WR Danny Amendola is listed as doubtful for Thursday’s game. Monday/Tuesday NFL Notes: The NYG have signed RB Brandon Jacobs. The big back is over the hill so this isn’t really news. Pats RB Shane Vereen will miss a few weeks with a broken wrist. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin says tha Isaac Redman will start at RB despite fumbling twice and only gaining 8 years last week. Lions DL Ndamukong Suh was fined 100K for his low blow to Vikings C John Sullivan. This dude is a maniac! ESPN’s Ed Werder says that Pats WR Danny Amendola has a groin issue but it’s uncertain whether or not he’ll suit up Thursday night vs. the Jets. Minny QB Christian Ponder threw 2 picks despite being faced with 8 man fronts all day. Dez Bryant suffered a mild foot sprain Sunday night and is expected to play in week 2. The Steelers suffered a huge blow Sunday losing LB Larry Foote to a torn bicpes and C Maurkice Pouncey with a torn ACL/MCL. They looked like crap yesterday as well. Could be a long season for Pit. Chad Henne will start at QB for the Jags in Week 2. Panthers T Garry Williams tore his ACL/MCL and will miss the rest of the season. – 9/10

Texans S Ed Reed is doubtful for the Texans MNF game. Denver had said Ronnie Hillman would start at RB but we’re now hearing that Knowshon Moreno may be the starter. Broncos DB Champ Bailey is OUT for Thursday’s game vs. the Ravens. Jags QB Blaine Gabbert is said to be a gametime decision. – 9/4
Tuesday NFL Notes: The Texans have signed Brian Cushing to a 6 year deal that locks him up through 2019. Jets RB Bilal Powell is listed number one on the Jets depth chart at RB but don’t be surprised to see Chris Ivory get more carries. The Cleveland Browns have signed K Billy Cundiff, who in my opinion is one of the worst kickers in the NFL. Redskins WR Pierre Garcon is said to be 100% healthy. Pittsburgh has stated that they’ll start Isaac Redman at RB. He’s SUPER cheap for those of you who play daily fantasy football. Many were wondering why the Steelers cut RB Jonathan Dwyer. Word is it was because he was 25 lbs overweight and the team felt he didn’t take his job serious enough. The Raiders have named Terrelle Pryor their Week 1 starting QB. – 9/3
