Roulette: Inside Bets

Roulette: The Inside Bets
by Wilson of Predictem.com

The inside bets on a roulette table are those bets located within the three rows of numbers and or the two numbers located above the three rows (0, 00). These bets are popular with players as their payoffs are very attractive. The most attractive payoff is that wager made on the solo number which can earn a player thirty five times their wager. Wow! How can a player pass up that kind of opportunity? Well, most cant and thats just what the casinos want them to do- bet the farm on the straight up number (individual number, such as 32 only to win). Lets take a look at the most popular inside bets.

The Five Line Bet: This is a fixed bet, which means it can only be placed in one position on the layout. The payoff is 6 to 1. A player will place a chip or chips in the outer edge line in-between the 0 and the number 1, or the 00 and the number 3. By placing the chip in this position the player is allowed to wager on the 1, 2, 3, 0, and 00 thus claiming the five line bet.

The Straight Up Bet: This is what I call the Big Daddy bet as it pays off at 35 to 1. If you spend a lot of time at a roulette table you will witness numerous players betting on their favorite numbers. Again, this is a gamble but the payoff is so attractive and when you hit your number (hopefully sooner than later) its a great win.

The Corner or Quad Bet: This bet secures four numbers for the player who places a chip in the middle intersection or center cross hair of four numbers. The payoff for this bet is 8 to 1.

The Split Bet: This bet is made by a player who simply places a chip in-between two numbers on the layout. The payoff for this bet is 17 to 1.

Street or Three Line Bet: This bet is made by a player who centers a chip on the outer edge line of a number. This means that all three numbers across the layout are included in the bet. I should mention that this bet is from side to side on the layout, not top to bottom.

Double Street or Six line: Similar to the three line bet this bet is made by placing a chip in the middle of two rows of numbers thus representing six numbers. The payoff for this bet is 5 to 1.

0-00 Split: This bet is for the player who wishes to place a chip in-between the 0 and 00. It can also be placed on the line in-between the 2nd 12 and the 3rd 12 of the outside betting area as many players cant reach the actual 0, 00 number line from where their positioned at the table. This is called courtesy bar which most casinos offer to those who want to make this bet. The payoff for this bet is 17 to 1.

According to many gambling gurus, such as RD Ellison and Henry Tamburin, roulette is definitely a game of chance but also a game of trends. The trends at any table can really tell the tale of the table. Most players enjoy the action and suspense of roulette. The players who favor the inside bet are usually the players who like taking higher risks and enjoy the aggressive nature of the bets. The odds on inside bets are obviously consistent but players should still be aware of the 00 trap on American roulette which cuts the odds in the house’s favor. To be fair most European casinos and North American casinos now
favor European/French Roulette with its single zero but American Roulette can still be found online, especially in Microgaming and Playtech powered sites, seeTop5casinosites.co.ukfor a full list of casinos offering their software. Luck to ya!
