Roulette: The Numbers

One of the reasons that Roulette is such a fun game to play is because there are so many bets that you can make. There are both inside bets that you can make and outside bets you can make. On the Roulette betting table the inside bets are the actual 36, 18 red and 18 black, numbers (1-36) that are on the Roulette wheel. The outside bets include such bets as the odd and even, black and red, and the column bets to name just a few. Roulette is simple, as you make your bet on what number you think will show up when the Roulette wheel is spun and the ball comes to rest. Wherever the ball rests is the winning number.
There are a few bets that you can make with the individuals numbers, which are the single number bet, split bet, corner bet, street bet, special line bet, and double street bet. Here are the inside numbers bets explained and their payouts.

Single Number Bet – This is a bet on one single number, which has a payout of 35:1. This bet is also called the straight up bet.
Split Bet – A bet on 2 numbers that are directly next to each other, which has a payout of 17:1.
One single bet on 4 numbers, which has a payout of 8:1. You make this bet by placing your chip/chips on the corner of 4 adjoining numbers.
Street Bet – A bet on any 3 numbers in an across line, which has a payout of 11:1.
Special Line Bet – A bet on the first 5 numbers, which are 00,0,1,2 and 3. The payout for this bet is 6:1.
6-line bet (aka Double Street Bet) – a 6 number bet, which has a payout of 5:1.
As you can see there are many types of inside numbers bets that you can make.
Before you play Roulette you need to find out what the minimum and maximum bet is. For example, if the minimum bet at a table is $2 then $2 is the minimum amount that you must bet on one bet, such as on one of the inside numbers.On the other side of the coin, lets say that the maximum bet at the table is $500. The $500 is the total amount that you can bet at the Roulette table on a single spin of the wheel. You can bet the maximum amount of $500 on one bet, such as on one of the inside numbers, or spread the $500 around the table with combination bets. For example, you can bet $100 on the numbers 3 and 8, $100 on a corner bet, and split bet, and $100 on red. This is $500 total, so you can not make any wagers, as you cannot surpass the $500 table limit.
