Brewers vs Dodgers Prediction, Odds & Pick: NLCS Game 3

Milwaukee Brewers at Los Angeles Dodgers
Wednesday, October 14, 2026
8:00 PM ET, UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium

The Dodgers are -182 moneyline favorites (-1.5 on the run line) with the total at 7.5 for NLCS Game 3, but my play is the Milwaukee Brewers on the moneyline at +149.

Picture it: 5:00 PM in Chavez Ravine, the sun still hanging over the hills, a home crowd that isn’t used to this feeling, and Blake Snell walking to the mound with the two-time defending champs down 0-2. Dave Roberts didn’t ask for a miracle, just “a typical Blake Snell outing,” the kind that lets him “deploy guys with a lead.” That’s the whole game. If Snell can’t deliver it, the Dodgers are handing the late innings to a bullpen that just got run ragged, against a Milwaukee pen that hasn’t allowed an earned run all series.

Milwaukee’s bullpen is a locked door with no keyhole

The Brewers haven’t gotten length from their starters in this series. Jacob Misiorowski went 4.1 innings in Game 1, Logan Henderson went four in Game 2, and it didn’t matter one bit. Milwaukee’s relievers have thrown 9 2/3 scoreless innings against the Dodgers and carry a 0.31 ERA over 28 2/3 innings this October. Uribe, Ashby, Megill and company have taken turns slamming the door, and Tuesday’s off day means everybody is fresh.

Now look at the other dugout. Yoshinobu Yamamoto lasted 2 2/3 innings in Game 2 and Roberts had to burn through seven relievers in a 7-4 loss. L.A. can’t survive another short start. Milwaukee already has, twice.

Snell is brilliant, once he finds the plate

Snell isn’t the problem when he’s on. He posted a 1.90 ERA in the regular season, and his FIP (which strips out luck and defense and just grades strikeouts, walks and homers) was even better at 1.72. He didn’t allow a single home run.

The problem is how little we’ve seen of him right. Snell threw only 42.2 innings this year, dealt with groin tightness in mid-September and lasted one inning in a September 16 start. His only playoff outing went 3.2 innings with five walks on 90 pitches against Atlanta. Roberts says Snell has “a bad taste in his mouth” from that one. Fine. Even a sharp Snell probably hands the ball over after five or six, and that leaves a tired bullpen covering the rest.

Gasser doesn’t need to be great, just fine

Robert Gasser is the shaky part of Milwaukee’s case. He had a 3.87 ERA this season and a 5.91 mark in two starts against L.A., with homers allowed to Teoscar Hernández, Andy Pages and Tommy Edman. But he finished the year with a 1.67 ERA over his last six starts and gave the Brewers four innings of one-run ball in his NLDS start at San Diego. “They know me, and I know them,” Gasser said. Four or five competent innings is all this pen needs.

Milwaukee won 103 games, took the season series 4-3, is 6-3 against the Dodgers overall in 2026 and has already beaten Tarik Skubal and Yamamoto in this series. The line opened Dodgers -166 and has climbed to -182, and nothing about the matchup changed. That’s a desperation tax on the home team, and I’m happy to collect it.

Where this blows up

Lefty against lefty is a real problem for Milwaukee. The Brewers posted a .706 OPS against left-handers this year, about 53 points worse than against righties, and Snell strikes out 31.8% of the hitters he faces. The Dodgers, meanwhile, still slug .426 against lefties, and Gasser has already given up three homers to this lineup. Shohei Ohtani (about 3-for-20 this postseason, nursing his biceps and knee) and Freddie Freeman (managing a sore knee) are both playing, and one big swing in front of a 51-30 home crowd flips this script. If Snell gets through six with a lead, Edwin Díaz hasn’t even appeared in this series yet.

I’ll take that risk at plus money on a clear, mild evening with a light breeze out (FS1 has it nationally). Snell is good but loses the strike zone by the fifth, Gasser keeps it close, and Milwaukee’s bullpen keeps the Dodgers off the board the rest of the way. Projected score: Brewers 4, Dodgers 2.

The Pick: Brewers ML +149
