The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will battle the Boston College Eagles in a neutral site game at the Barclay’s Center in the opening round of the ACC Conference Tournament on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. The college basketball betting board lists Boston College as a small two-point favorite over Georgia Tech with a total line offered at 145 points.
Georgia Tech is coming off a back to back home wins over Wake Forest and NC State. The two victories put an end to a dismal seven-game losing streak and extended their winning point spread run to four games. In their latest against Wake Forest, the Yellow Jackets recorded their first UNDER in four games and only their second over the last seven contests. Georgia Tech has played just one game on a neutral court this season, and it came in their season opener a 63-60 defeat to UCLA.
Boston College closed out the regular season with three tough games, and while they didn’t impress going 1-2, they did give a good account of themselves. They lost a heartbreaker on the road to Miami leading late in the game only to lose by a single point. The Eagles followed that up with an impressive 15 point win over the Orange and then closed out the regular season on the road with a closer than the final score suggests 85-76 loss to the Seminoles. Boston College played two games this season on a neutral court, a loss to an excellent Texas Tech team by 11 in a game that was losing by just five with a minute to go and crushed La Salle 82-61 in the other.
Today’s game will be their second meeting this season. In the earlier match, Boston College came on strong in overtime to outscore Georgia Tech 11-3 to get the home win and point spread cover. The win by the home team was the third straight in this series, and the OVER was the sixth in the last seven games although they needed OT to get there.

This game is set up as a battle between Boston Colleges offense versus Georgia Techs defense. The Yellow Jackets have an edge in scoring defense, defensive FG%, and three-point defense. The Eagles have the advantage in all three of those metrics offensively.
Sure, the Yellow Jackets put together a nice two-game streak to end the season, but they had dropped seven straight before then and keep in mind that they are 1-8 on the road in AAC action this season beating only lowly Pittsburgh. Boston College is playing well right now and looked good in both of their neutral site games. The Eagles do come into this game beat up, but I expect all the walking wounded to give a shot today. All hands on deck and the reasonable line make this an easy call versus the low spread line.
