Nationals pitcher Erick Fedde has been putrid on the road lately. If you throw out a good outing he had against Baltimore on 6/21, his last four starts away from home have yielded a massive 21 earned runs over only 13.2 innings. Yes, he had shoulder inflammation and has missed almost a month, but that doesn’t explain his 5.45 road ERA in 2021 either. Fedde will be opposed by lefty ace Robbie Ray, who has had some hard luck starts as of late. Ray has a 2.33 ERA this month but only one win to show for it. Get our Wash/Sea betting prediction here!

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainright has allowed one run or less in four of his last five starts! He’ll be facing Javier Assad, who will be making his major league debut Tuesday in the MLB’s lone day game. Assad is a 25-year old 6’1″ right hander who hadn’t made it above AA ball until this year. As crazy as it sounds, the Marlins vs. A’s matchup might be the highest scoring game of the day. Miami starter Pablo Lopez looks like he’s hit a wall. He’s got great talent but is pitching like a young player that has “hit a wall” and should be shut down for the season. Reds pitcher Nick Lodolo threw seven shutout innings against the Phillies back on August 17th. When he’s good, he’s been really good. When he’s bad, he’s been really bad. Giants lefty Carlos Rodon has been filthy as of late, allowing two runs or less in each of his last four starts. Unfortunately for Rodon, the Giants are mired in a slump, losers of four of their last five games. They’ll get the Tigers Tuesday, which may be just what the Dr. ordered! Motor City is 4-2 in their last six, however, the big picture tells us all we need to know, as they’re 6-16 in their last 22 games. Expect a low scoring affair at Comerica Park today! Monday MLB action closes out with what projects to be a grind of a game between the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers. If you throw Eric Lauer’s miserable month of July out, he’s been a REALLY good pitcher this season. On the other side of the field, you’ve got Julio Uras who has looked like a Cy Young candidate lately, allowing only four earned runs over his last thirty-eight innings. A pair of lefties go head-to-head Monday evening at Wrigley Field when the St. Louis Cardinals come to the Windy City to take on the Chicago Cubs. It’ll be Jordan Montgomery for the Cards, who has only allowed one earned run over his last 16.2 innings. The Cubs will feature Drew Smyly, who has also been good lately, who has only allowed two earned runs over his last seventeen innings. The “Subway Series” kicks off Monday between the New York Mets vs. New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. The fans will be up for it, but the game doesn’t have the same shine as the Yanks have only scored more than two runs once in their last four games. The White Sox and Royals square off Monday afternoon in the only day game on an abbreviated nine game slate. After a quick start to the season, Michael Kopech has looked average at best lately. Lefty Daniel Lynch started the season off slow, but has pitched better over the last month or so. The Sox got rained out yesterday and Kansas City is 1-6 in their last seven games. The Pittsburgh Pirates have a stacked group of young players but it hasn’t yet translated into wins. The Bucs are 2-8 in their last ten games, with a firm grasp on last place in the National League Central division. The Braves are in just the opposite situation, winners of eleven of their last thirteen games.
