One of the most underrated teams in the NFL, the Arizona Cardinals, will be traveling to the Edward Jones Dome this Sunday to take on their division foe, the St Louis Rams in an NFC West showdown. The Cardinals come in at 9-2 while the Rams are 4-7 and sitting in 3rd place in the division. The Cardinals are only a few wins away from clinching the west, and if the season were to end today, they would be the second in the NFC playoffs and have home field over everyone except the Carolina Panthers.

This is the second time these two teams have met this season and the last time they faced off, it was actually the Rams who got the 24-22 win in Arizona. That loss to the Rams was the only home loss for the Cardinals this season. Over the last two seasons, Arizona has won two of the three meetings and this weekend will be more of a revenge game than anything else for the Cardinals.

Not only have the Cardinals won two of the last three in this series, but they have also covered the spread in four of the last five as well. Coming into this weekends game, the line is Arizona favored by 5.5 on the road. As of Tuesday morning, 67% of the action believes that the Cardinals will roll into St Louis and get the easy win. The total points are set at 43 combined and 54% believe that this game stays under that total.

I mentioned earlier in my opening that Arizona is one of the most underrated teams in the NFL. All you hear about in the NFC is the progress of the Carolina Panthers and whatever is going on in Green Bay. The Packers do not even lead their division and they are getting more pub than the Cardinals who are currently 9-2 and the second seed of the NFC. For the last few years, the Cardinals have been one of the better defenses in the NFL and the general fan base knows this, but what many do not realize is that in 2015, the Cardinals have the NFLs top scoring offense at 32 points a game and Carson Palmer, who is passing for almost 300 yards a game has them ranked as the 4th best passing offense in the league. On the defensive side, they are still solid. Ranked 10th in the NFL, Arizona is only allowing opponents to score 20.8 points per game. This weekend, on paper, this should be an easy win for the Cardinals. They have the much better offense although the Rams defense is pretty solid. I can see this game being close entering the fourth quarter. If Arizona can get some late stops or a turnover it could end up being a run away win, but if they let the Rams hang in late, this thing could go either wayas we saw in week four.

A few weeks back, I thought the St Louis Rams were looking good. Not for a playoff run or anything, but I saw things headed in the right direction. They finally have a stud running back in Todd Gurley and their defense after eleven games is ranked near the top ten in the NFL. The problem though has been the quarterback play. Nick Foles was not all he was expected and now that he is injured, the quarterback situation is a mess in St Louis. I have a feeling in the 2016 NFL draft that we will see the Rams selecting a QB, if there are any worth drafting that is. If the Rams have any plans to win again over the Cardinals, they need to play a full game. Both sides of the ball, mistake free, and score.

I hate doing this, but, I am going to. I will join the public on this play. I can see the Cardinals coming out and blowing the Rams away in a one sided contest. I like the Cardinals in this one 27-10.
