Point Spread:DEN +8 / PHI -8
Over/Under Total: 43.5

This Sunday at “The Linc” the 7-1 Eagles will host a Denver team that is still trying to find its identity that sits at 3-4 on the season. Philly leads the NFC East and is also the top seed in all of the NFC at this time while Denver is 3-4 but is still 2nd place in the AFC West behind the Kansas City Chiefs. This game is very interesting because it will be the best defense that the Eagles have faced and in my personal opinion it will be probably the best offense the Broncos have had to defend.

Denver will travel east to Philadelphia and come into this game as eight point underdogs on the road. The total points in this one are set at 43.5 total. As of late Tuesday night, 66% of the action was on the Eagles to cover. This is much of the reason this line has gone from six points to eight points. If the money keeps being put on Philly, we may see a double digit spread by kickoff on Sunday. The total points of 43.5 seems about right. 53% likes the under while 47% thinks it will go under.

We all knew the Eagles were getting better and better but no one thought they would start this season 7-1 and guess what… these guys just got even better. The Miami Dolphins decided to part ways with star running back, Jay Ajayi and sent him to Philadelphia for a draft pick. This will compliment Carson Wentz and the passing game and now the Eagles offense is going to be even more dangerous and feared. After the first eight games, the Philadelphia Eagles were already averaging over 129 yards per game on the ground led by LeGarrette Blount. This was good enough to be ranked 5th in all of the NFL. A top five run game, combined with a top ten passing game helped Philly score almost 30 points a game and crack the top four in scoring offense in the entire league. Not only are the Eagles a very strong and productive offense, but their defense is also ranked in the top ten in the NFL. As much as I have always despised the Eagles and pretty much any team from Philadelphia, you cannot deny that this team is becoming a serious threat to make it to the Super Bowl.

The Denver Broncos, much like most of the last four to five years is living and dying by their defense. The Broncos are ranked 13th in points allowed and this may seem like they are just slightly above average but the truth is that these guys are on the field… A LOT! The Denver offense is pretty much useless with Trevor Siemian at the helm. The Broncos are only averaging 18 points a game which ranks them 24th in the NFL. There are rumors swirling that this game may be the game that the Broncos go with Brock Osweiler over Siemian to see if he can get more production. The Denver run game has been rather stout this year and if they have any chance of winning at Philadelphia, this needs to continue. This Denver offense needs to help the defense and prolong drives to shorten the game. A good run game can do this, but the Broncos passing game needs to also show up in order to spread out the defense so they do not just stack the box all day and stuff the run.

I do not think that the Denver Broncos have the fire power to win this game at Philly but I do think they are good enough to keep it close. I think when the day is over, the Eagles will be 8-1 and the Broncos 3-5, but the score will be much closer than many think it will be. I like the Eagles to get by with a 23-17 type score this Sunday.
