Don’t look now, but the New Orleans Saints are perhaps emerging as a Cinderella Story to start the 2024 season. The Saints blew out the Carolina Panthers 47-10 in the season opener, which most fans disregarded because the Panthers have just been terrible. However, last week, the Saints stunned the football world by delivering another blowout in a 44-19 route over the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys were impressive in their season-opening win against Cleveland, and we know that they have incredible talent. However, the Saints outshined the Cowboys in every facet of the game and simultaneously reinjected life back into Who Dat Nation.
On Sunday, the Saints will have another opportunity to continue their red-hot start to the season when they host the Philadelphia Eagles inside the Caesars Superdome. Following the Saints’ blowout victory over the Cowboys, the Eagles appeared poised to take full control of the NFC East. After all, Philadelphia was extremely impressive behind RB Saquan Barkley in the opening win against Green Bay. Then, on Monday Night Football, the Eagles appeared to be in total control over the Atlanta Falcons before giving up a last-minute game-winning touchdown drive that left the Eagles with a surprising 22-21 loss at Lincoln Financial Field. At 1-1 SU, the Eagles are in need of a bounce-back situation when they embark on their first road trip of the season to New Orleans.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. New Orleans Saints Betting Analysis
The reason the Saints have had a fast start to the season is because everything has been clicking on the offensive side of the football. Last week against Dallas, RB Alvin Kamara looked like the MVP candidate, Alvin Kamara, from 2020. Kamara carved up the Cowboys’ defense for 115 yards on the ground with three touchdowns and added another 65 yards with a touchdown in the receiving game. It was truly a masterful performance from the Saints RB, and it only helped that QB Derek Carr was also sharp for the 2nd straight week. In fact, Carr connected with WR Rashid Shaheed for a 70-yard bomb early in the game, which was the 2nd straight week the two connected on a 60-yard plus big play.
With so many things clicking down the field and with the run game, it will be interesting to see how long the Saints can keep this torrid pace. One undeniable observation that leads me to believe the streak could continue is the fact that the Eagles defense has not looked strong through the opening two weeks of the season. The Philadelphia run-defense has been horrible and the Eagles secondary has consistently failed to get off the field. Needless to say, that is concerning for a defense that will be lining up against an offense that is firing on all cylinders.
Despite the Eagles’ concerns on defense, the offense has always had the firepower to bail them out of tough situations, and that will be the case this season with the addition of RB Saquan Barkley. In fact, the Eagles may have to rely on Barkley heavily as star WR AJ Brown is expected to miss at least another week with an injury. WR Devonta Smith was able to pick up the slack on MNF, catching seven passes for 76 yards with a touchdown. However, the Eagles passing attack will face a difficult match-up against the New Orleans secondary this Sunday. Therefore, the Eagles offense is going to need some big plays from Barkley and QB Jalen Hurts in the running department.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. New Orleans Saints Betting Prediction
Offensive Coordinator Klint Kubiak has done an amazing job with this Saints offense, and RB Alvin Kamara looks like his former self. More importantly, the Saints have the tools to exploit this Philadelphia defense from a talent and match-up perspective. Personally, I did not have the Saints going 3-0 on my 2024 NFL bingo card, but I think that is what happens!
