This Sunday the New York Giants, who somehow sit on top of the NFC East division, will travel into Landover to take on their division foe, the Washington Redskins. At 5-5, New York is the current leader of the division, but at 4-6 the Redskins are a win away from making a move themselves. This is a very weird division. The Eagles and Cowboys are underachieving. Washington is over achieving, and the Giants are just being the Giants. It will be very interesting to see who wins this thing in a few weeks. This is the second time these two teams have met in 2015. The last meeting was back in week three in New York, with the Giants getting their first win of the season with a 32-21 defeat of the Skins. I am interested to see who wins this one, because I seriously have no clue who will.none.

The line opened with the spread being nearly an even pickem and now on Wednesday morning, the public has pounded New York so much, they are a two point favorite. The total points are set at 46.5 between the two teams as well. Against the spread this season though, New York has been good, real good. They are 5-5 overall, but they have covered the spread in six contests and in two that they did not cover, they were within just two points of doing so. In this series, the Giants have also done well against the spread, covering the last five games and also winning them outright. The Redskins have not defeated the Giants since December 3rd, 2012 when they won 17-16. Will this weekend stop the bleeding for the Redskins in this series?

New York started the season at 0-2 and it was not just an 0-2 start, it was how they started that made it so painful. In week one, bad playcalling and horrible clock management allowed the Dallas Cowboys to come back and win on a late touchdown. A week later, after the smoke from that disaster cleared, New York led the Atlanta Falcons by double digits at home late in the fourth quarter and guess what happenedTHE SAME THING! The New York media and fans wanted the entire coaching staff not just fired, but executed at mid field. Well, since those two horrible losses, that could have both easily been wins, the Giants are still leading the division and have gone 5-3 since that time. The Giants are really a good team and if both of those blown games were wins, they would be at 7-3 and coasting into a division title. However, they dug themselves that mini hole and now it is time to play ball. Each and every week in the NFC East is do or die at this point. All four teams can still make a run to win it, but all four teams could see themselves in last place toowithin two weeks. It is a tight race. The Giants have been the more impressive of the four, mainly due to the Cowboys injury to Tony Romo, but the Giants have been solid. The G-Men rank 4th in the NFL in scoring offense but their defense needs a little help. Ranked 25th in the NFL, the Giants are allowing opponents to score 25 points a game. This cannot continue if they have any desire to win the division. And that needs to start this weekend. If the Giants can hold Washingtons offense in check, I like their chances of getting an easy win on the road.

The Washington Redskins still have a punchers chance to win the NFC Eastunbelievable. At 4-6, they are just a game out and a win over the Giants this weekend can make things really interesting within the division. It is almost like every Sunday is a playoff game for every team in the division. A loss this weekend though could conceivably end any shot for the Redskins to do the unthinkable. There is not a lot to say about this team. They are not impressive in any area, they have just managed to win four games and somehow, someway, stay afloat in a bad division. The key this weekend is to expose the Giants defense. If Washington can score points and get the home crowd behind them, I see no reason why they cant win this game. It will not be easy, but a total team effort could get the job done.

The Giants seem like the easy play here. It almost seems too easy. On paper, it would appear that the Giants should win this game by 5-7 points, yet the line opened with them even and now it sits at two points. I am going to make a bold prediction here. The Washington Redskins will beat the Giants 24-23 on a last second field goal. Watch.
