The Jets will continue forth on a high note after they defeated the Baltimore Ravens last week at home. Now the Jets will travel to the Dawg Pound to square off with another AFC North foe the Cleveland Browns. The Browns enter off yet another loss and look like they are in complete discord. The Jets are 2-5 while the Browns are winless at 0-7 this season. Kick-off is scheduled at 1:00 PM with the festivities to be aired live from FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio on CBS.
The Browns are currently on pace to earn the number one draft pick as they are half-way to a winless season. The Browns are currently riding a ten-game losing streak that extends to back to last season. In this sample, the Browns have only come close to a win on three of those occasions there are no real silver linings for this organization they are in complete shambles and have no point to work from. The Browns have some young talent in their ranks but they nonetheless are accruing some in-game experience and thus the learning curve is still bearing some sharp turns. The Browns are also 2-5 ATS this season, highlighting the fact the Browns have been far worse than advertised. Most recently, the Browns have dropped three of their last four against the spread, losing by an average of 14 points in these three losses. The Browns offense has been anemic while their defense has been more than accommodating.
The Jets in their own right continue to have all kinds of problems both internally and externally. The New York Jets defense still remains a shadow of years past and their offense looks extremely tumultuous. The Jets continue to deal with injuries to key players and these events have curtailed their output overall. The list of injuries now includes Geno Smith who tore his ACL after he got the nod at starter against Baltimore. Now the Jets have to return to an inconsistent Ryan Fitzpatrick who has been an object of dissension at the quarterback position for Todd Bowles all season long.
We are going to play the team with the hot hand and stay clear of the team that has yet to win a game in eons. The Browns are simply a dangerous play and the Jets may hope to build on their recent win and improve to 3-5. In spite of a win against Baltimore, Jets stock remains low and they along with Cleveland remain the laughing stock teams of the NFL. The market has no way to approach this one, simply throwing their hands in the air as if our guess is as good as theirs in this one. As we have championed previously, the Jets lost three consecutive games to 2015 playoff qualifying teams in Pittsburgh, Seattle and Arizona. The quality of competition that the Jets have already faced has made them a better team than simply being a bottom feeder. Thus, the Jets are once again offered at a fantastic price given the fact they are likely the superior team in this contest. No matter where we attack this angle from the Jets should be favored and spotting points as a road team because Cleveland really is in terrible shape.
The Jets defense is likely getting a mulligan against the Browns and if they can succeed in holding off the Ravens wide-receivers, there should be little trouble against the Dawgs. If at nothing else, playing on a team on such a long losing streak is enough to stay clear even if there are plenty of points offered with them.in a pick-em? That is a true no-go. In Over/Under markets, the best play will likely be on the Under given the troubles of both teams offenses. We will go ahead and advise that play given the fact the Jets offense must re-tool yet again and Clevelands offense is one of the worst in the NFL. This game may be a sloppy played game settled by a low total score. Overall, the Jets as a pick-em offers tremendous upside given the fact they are coming off a win, while playing against a team on a long losing streak.
