The Carolina Panthers will take their winless campaign on the road this weekend for a daunting match-up against the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium. Last week, the Panthers fell to 0-5 SU following their biggest loss of the season in a 42-24 defeat to the Detroit Lions. Despite being without several stars on offense, the Lions shredded the Panthers’ defense with a balanced attack led by QB Jared Goff and RB David Montgomery. With the defeat, the Panthers have now given up 28.8 points per game this season and will have the unfortunate task of facing the NFL’s most potent offense in the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins bounced back from their week 4 loss to Buffalo with a convincing 31-16 victory over the New York Giants. Aside from a pick-six, the Dolphins played almost flawlessly. QB Tua Tagovailoa threw a pair of touchdowns to both of the team’s top receivers, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Hill actually had yet another monster stat line, going for 8 catches, 181 yards, and a touchdown. Meanwhile, rookie running back De’Von Achane continued his explosive rise by racking up 151 yards on just 11 carries. Unfortunately, Achane injured his knee in the contest and will miss a few weeks of playing time. However, I don’t believe that factor will impact this week’s match-up because Miami has one of the deepest running back rooms in the entire league.

Carolina Panthers vs. Miami Dolphins Betting Analysis
In many ways, I don’t see this week’s match-up against the Panthers any different from last week’s match-up against the Giants. Both defenses are pretty bad. Like the Giants, Carolina has struggled to move the football. While the reasons for the Giants’ struggles surround the offensive line, the Panthers’ struggles are mainly due to the inexperience of QB Bryce Young, who has struggled through the opening stretch of his career. However, Young is hardly the lone blame for the Panthers who are without superstar talent on the offensive side of the football and have played below their talent on the defensive side of the football.
Against a Miami offense that is currently breaking records for the pace of their offense, I don’t see many paths to success for this Carolina defense. Even with Achane sidelined, starting RB Raheem Mostert is available and the team could get RB Jeff Wilson back this week. I expect the running game will continue to be a focal point for Head Coach Mike McDaniel because the Panthers have struggled severely against the run. However, I also don’t see anyone in the Panthers’ secondary having any answers to stopping Tyreek Hill either. Therefore, I think this game is really more of a question as to whether the Panthers’ offense can score at a pace to cover the point spread?

Carolina Panthers vs. Miami Dolphins Betting Prediction
The Dolphins rank 6th in pressure rate, which has led to an NFL 3rd best 17 sacks this season. I think the pressure upfront will be the difference maker this week, which will cause QB Bryce Young’s struggles to continue. A turnover or two could turn this one ugly quickly. If not, I still think laying the points is the play here!
