This Sunday is a battle of 1-2 teams from the NFC East when the Philadelphia Eagles travel into Maryland to take on the Washington Redskins. A win in this game is huge because the winner will remain in the hunt for the division crown while the loser would find themselves well behind the 8-ball after the first fourth of the season comes to an end. The Eagles were highly praised all off-season and especially through the pre-season. Once the season officially started, they went downhill in a major way. After a Monday night loss to Atlanta then a home loss to division rival, Dallas, the Eagles looked DONE. Well, this past weekend, things looked normal. They took down a Jets team that had actually been playing pretty solid this season. Washington on the other hand had no major aspirations coming into 2015. Well, at least from a fan and experts perspective. Of course pro athletes always think they have a shot, but Washington is just a dumpster fire, and has been since the late 90s to be honest. Great job, Dan Snyder. Anyhow, Washington sits at 1-2 and with their only win coming against the St Louis Rams who just simply cannot run the ball or scoreat all. The one thing however that I have learned about the NFC East is that you just never know. These teams are up and down more than any other division in the NFL.

The line opens with the Eagles as three point road favorites over the Redskins. The total points are set at 47.5 combined. At this time, 69% of the Vegas action is on the Eagles to get the road cover. On the surface it looks like the sure fire bet to make but nothing is ever a sure thing when it comes to sports betting. We all know that!

Have the Philadelphia Eagles turned the corner to become the team that many thought they could be? Possibly, but it is games like this one that they need to win to show they are for real. So far this season Sam Bradford has been less than stellar. He is making horrible decisions, checking down when he has receivers wide open 20 yards downfield, and to be honest, he just isnt accurate. Is it the Chip Kelly scheme showing that it cannot hang in the NFL, or do the Eagles just not have the right personnel in place? I have heard both of these stated by fans and media members. Fact is, this is a game that the Eagles need to win. If they lose to Washington and already have a loss to 2-1 Dallas, this season could end up being a huge disappointment. I think it is safe to say that the NFC wild card winner will come from either the NFC South or NFC West. Atlanta, Carolina, Seattle, and Arizona could be taking four of those spots, so the NFC East is pretty much a win or go home division. Now, we are only in week four, but these inner division games can come back to haunt you or help you come late December. The key to the Eagles winning this game is to get the offense clicking like it is supposed to. Washington does not have the weapons to win a shootout. If the Eagles can get to 24-28 points, I think they will be in good shape. If they play like they did against Atlanta and Dallas and cannot move the ball, it could be a bad game and the Eagle fans will NOT BE happy!

I still believe Washington finishes in last place of the NFC East, but now that we are in week four and after seeing what I have seen already this season, I believe they could somehow win this game. So far in 2015, the Redskins are 1-2 with their only win coming against the Rams in a game where they just simply could not move the ball. From a statistical standpoint, the Redskins are not that bad of a team. But remember, one good performance or one horrible performance by an opponent within in the first three weeks can skew those stats. With that said, the Redskins are ranked 8th in the league in scoring defense and are ranked in the top five in the NFL in rushing yards. The passing game is only averaging 228 yards a contest, but with a top five rushing attack, that is not too damning of a statistic. In order to win this game though, the Skins will want to keep the score low. Long drives, good defense, and very few mental mistakes is what is needed. Do that and I can see this game being in doubt late in the fourth and at that time, its anyones game!

This game is a complete and total toss up for me. I do not trust the Eagles just yet, but I do not think Washington is very good either. I am going to go with a straight public fade on this one. I am taking the Redskins plus the three points for the fact that so many people are on the Eagles. No other logic, no other reasonjust a fade.
