In what should be another tough game in the tough AFC North, the Bengals host the Steelers Sunday afternoon at Paul Brown Stadium. Pittsburgh just experienced defeat for the first time in a while last week, while Cincinnati just tasted victory for the first time in a month. But both these teams are right in the running for spots in the AFC playoffs.

The Bengals are favored by a tweener number here; which way are we going with our free NFL betting pick?

NFL Betting Action

The Week 12 NFL betting odds opened Cincinnati as a four-point home favorite over the Steelers, with an over/under of right around 46. Early betting action then bumped the Bengals to -4.5 and dipped that total to 45.
Anybody thinking Pittsburgh might win this game outright could get +185 on the NFL betting money line.

Steelers Betting Preview

Pittsburgh just suffered its first loss in almost two months, a crazy 41-37 decision at the Chargers last Sunday night. The Steelers trailed 17-10 at the half and 27-10 through three quarters, then roared back to lead 37-34 with three minutes left. But Pittsburgh promptly gave up a 53-yard Chargers touchdown from scrimmage to fall back down and couldn’t respond.
The Steelers did, however, rally for the cover as six-point dogs, and that’s what’s really important.
Pittsburgh got out-gained by the Chargers 533-300 and out-rushed 159-55, so the Steelers got out-played pretty well. They needed a couple of gifts from the Chargers to fuel that fourth-quarter comeback but, in the end, couldn’t come up with a defensive stop.
Pittsburgh has also now been out-gained by two of its last three opponents and out-rushed by each of its previous three foes.

Bengals Betting Preview

Cincinnati, meanwhile, just snapped a two-game losing skid with a 32-13 victory at Las Vegas last week. The Bengals spotted the Raiders the first three points of the game but led 10-6 at the half. Cincy then went up 16-6 early in the fourth quarter, let Vegas get within 16-13, then tacked on the last 16 points of the game for the win and the cover as a 2.5-point favorite.
The Bengals only produced 288 yards of offense last week but held the Raiders to 278. Cincinnati also out-rushed Las Vegas 159-72 and dominated the time of possession by a 37:23 split.
The Bengals started 5-2 this season, then looked terrible in back-to-back losses to the Jets and Browns. Perhaps last week’s win gets them back on track.
At 6-4 and 5-4-1, respectively, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh trail first-place Baltimore by one and 1.5 games in the AFC North. And the Browns are in there at 6-5. That makes this division the only one in the League with all four teams above .500.

Steelers-Bengals Recent History

Pittsburgh beat Cincinnati 11 times in a row from 2015 into last season, but the Bengals are trying to turn the worm, winning the previous two meetings. Cincy beat the Steelers at home late last season 27-17, then won in Pittsburgh back in Week 3 of this season 24-10.

We like Cincinnati when RB Mixon is getting touches. Last week, he touched it 30 times, and the Bengals scored 32 points, won, and cashed. On the other side of this match-up, Pittsburgh just gave up 533 yards to the Chargers last week, and it’s still banged up on defense. Plus, after losing all those games in a row in this rivalry, it appears Cincy is learning how to beat the Steelers. We’re betting the Bengals here. This is a GREAT game to partake in live betting!
