The Phillies took the opener backed by a nice pitching performance from Aaron Nola. Tonight’s game will be the first meeting between these two clubs this season. Last season the home were the victors in five of the seven matches and likewise for the favorite. The Brewers and nationals open a three-game series in Washington tonight. The Brewers took the first three meetings back in May and will now try to extend that streak on the road. The Yankees host the Indians in the first of a four-game set at Yankees Stadium. In the opener Cleveland goes with Adam Plutko who pitched well in his only start versus the NYY back in early June.
