The Warriors brought the broom with them in the Western Conference Finals as they swept the Portland Trailblazers. Most notably, the W’s did this without the services of all-NBA sensation Forward Kevin Durant. And, they did it in dramatic fashion with three of the aforementioned series victories coming after deficits of at least 17 points. It was not very long ago that the Milwaukee Bucks were looking very much like the beast of the East. Now their backs are firmly against the wall. As the #1 seed, they would have be able to advance to the NBA Finals simply by winning their home games. Giannis was clearly rattled offensively in game three and it showed as he had his lowest scoring outing in this years’ playoffs. The Warriors are expected to outshoot the Blazers from deep. They are the best in the biz. But, GSW is hurting Portland in all other areas as well. The Raptors were destroyed on the boards in Game 2 and it was all but over at halftime with the Bucks rolling to a 64-39 halftime lead in the 125-103 victory. As the concern was raised in our write-up of Game One, the Bucks looked every bit rusty in the opening stages. Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals wasn’t quite as bad as the score suggested. Portland was competitive in the game more than they were not. Keep in mind they seemingly did EVERYTHING wrong and the score was still close at least once in nearly every quarter except the 4th.
