2010-2011 AFC Championship Predictions – Betting Odds

by Predictem.com Staff

NFL futures bets such as who will win the AFC championship are great bets for recreational football bettors for many reasons. The first is that it gives you tremendous bang for your buck. It’s a wager that is made prior to the start of the season and gives you something to root for all season long.

And speaking of a buck, an NFL futures bet can be made for as little as $1 at the web’s best online sportsbook: 5Dimes.

Should your futures bet pick make it deep into the NFL playoffs, you will be able to “hedge” your bet to guarantee a profit. Needless to say, these bets pay better than the standard individual game in which you’re risking $1.10 to profit $1.00. Even the lowest odds AFC Championship futures bet pays 4.5 to 1.

With all that being said, let’s take a look at this year’s odds to win the 2010/2011 AFC Championship! Be sure to check out our take at the end!

Indianapolis Colts +450
San Diego Chargers +565
Baltimore Ravens +625
New England Patriots +660
New York Jets +685
Pittsburgh Steelers +1000
Cincinnati Bengals +1500
Houston Texans +1700

Tennessee Titans +2000
Denver Broncos +3300

Oakland Raiders +4700
Kansas City Chiefs +6000
Cleveland Browns +6300
Buffalo Bills +7500

As you can imagine, everybody and their brother will be on the Colts to win the AFC Championship and for good reason. As long as Peyton Manning is able to lace’em up, Indy has a good shot to go to Super Bowl XLV. With that being said, we’re going to put a unit on them as well as taking a mid-range odds pick as well as a longshot where we’re looking to hit a homerun payoff.

Our mid-range pick to win the AFC is the Miami Dolphins at 18-1. You can never count out a team that Bill Parcells is involved in. The guy is simply a magician when it comes to making something out of nothing.

My longshot pick is the Tennessee Titans at 20/1. This team is VERY close to becoming a powerhouse. They can score with the best of them, the question is can they stop opposting offenses? Coach Jeff Fisher is another guy that gets the best out of his players. Could happen!

For $3, these picks are well worth the entertainment value and there’s a decent chance that one of them hits and we get a nice payday.

Before we go, we’d like to ask you if you’re still laying -110 (or higher) to win 100? If so, you’re pissing away loot! Did you know that you can lay only -105 to win that very same 100 when you do your football betting at 5Dimes? Make the switch TODAY!
