In Week 9 we will once again see a match-up of rivals from the AFC East, when the New York Jets host their upstate foes to take on the Buffalo Bills for Thursday Night football. The Jets had defeated the Bills on both occasions in 2016 and sported a two-game winning streak heading into their opening week match-up. The Bills would win in Buffalo and snap the streak, when they took down Gang Green 21-12 earlier this season in September. Kick-off is scheduled at 8:25 PM with the festivities to be aired live from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on the NFL Network.

In the early going, the public has taken a shine to the Bills as they come in on the heels of a dominant performance when they hosted the Oakland Raiders at New Era Field, last Sunday. Buffalo would roam all over the Raiders, defeating Oakland by a score of 34-14. Overall, the Bills have been in good form both against the spread and as an outright option. The Bills have won four of their last five contests overall and have covered in five of the seven games they were offered in this season. With the Bills playing at a high level this far into the season, many are wondering if this year the Bills will end their playoff drought.

The Jets come in off yet another game they could have won. For the third week in a row, Gang Green blew a fourth quarter lead to come up empty-handed. This is typical Jets football, they are a team known for theatrics and sheer drama. The Jets most recent excursion was against the defending NFC Champions the Atlanta Falcons. New York would come up short in a 25-20 loss but as mentioned they could have walked off with the W when they were hosting the Dirty Birds at MetLife Stadium, last Sunday. As mentioned previously, the Jets were expected to be a dumpster fire. However, the Jets have looked far better than they were prognosticated and could have had an entirely different win-loss record had they kept their act together. Given the fact the Jets entered the 2017 season with such low expectations, the quantity of points takers were able to take back on them were clearly enhanced. As a result, the Jets have been a cash cow all season long. A team like Gang Green whose stock was so low upon season entry was bound to gather little public action unless books could enchant bettors by inflating the number. They did just that with the Jets and they have covered in five of their last six outings.

Both teams will enter this contest off little rest so there is no edge granted to either participant in the matter of game preparation. However, Buffalo is more prone for the let-down given the fact they defeated New York by considerable margins earlier this season coupled with the fact that they are coming in off an impressive victory. The Bills are also in the fold right now for the AFC East and with such acclamation, the market will start to keep an eye on Buffalo more carefully. Nevertheless, the number we see the Bills presented with here is a notorious favorite number. The 3.5-number is one designed to attract attention on the underdog, after all if the Jets were to lose by a field goal they would still foster a cover.

As a whole, the Bills have gotten a lack of respect from the market over the course of this season. That much is evident by Buffalos overall body of work. Situationally, the Bills are set up to make a statement on a primetime match-up in a notoriously hostile environment. The Bills will roll again and be a great target to fade in Week Ten. However, first thing is first: the New York Jets. With the Jets defense showing their chinks in the armor every week, Buffalo has the perfect recipe to orchestrate a blowout win. Its called a dose of Shady McCoy and if you give him time, he works. Swallow the points.
