Sunday at 1:00pm there is an AFC and NFC game between two teams that do not spark much excitement…unless of course you are a fan of one of the teams.
The 1-4 Chicago Bears will travel to M&T Bank Stadium to take on the Baltimore Ravens who enter this game at 3-2 overall. Chicago enters this game placed 4th in the NFC North while Baltimore is hanging on tight sitting in 2nd place in the AFC North. Both teams could greatly benefit from a win this Sunday and I think this game will be interesting to keep an eye on from a competitive standpoint.

As of Wednesday a majority of the sports books had the Baltimore Ravens as 6.5 point favorites over the Bears. The total points were set at an even 40 combined. At the same time, 68% of the action was on the Ravens to cover at home. This could lead to this line extending itself to seven or more points come kickoff on Sunday. As for the total points, 55% like this game to go over the 40 points total.

Chicago is sitting at 1-4 overall, but they have actually been pretty competitive in their first five games. In week one, they were just a few yards away from beating the Atlanta Falcons who are the defending NFC Champions. This past weekend, with a first time starting QB, the Bears fell to the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 20-17. The Bears are just a few plays away from being 3-2 rather than 1-4.

In his first start, Mitch Trubisky passed for just 128 yards with a touchdown and a pick in the 20-17 loss. With that said, he did not look that bad and I feel this kid could be a legit starter down the road. As for this game, in order to give the Bears a chance to win, they need a balanced attack. Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen must get the run game going and force Baltimore to tighten up against the run. This will make Trubisky’s job easier and take the pressure off of him. If Chicago cannot establish some run game then it will end up being yet another long day for DA BEARS.

Baltimore like I mentioned earlier heads into this weekend at 3-2 overall and 2nd place in the AFC North division. The Ravens have not played the most toughest schedule but they have faired just about as expected against the teams they have faced off against. Baltimore has been all over the place. Some days their defense looks like the defense from the Ray Lewis era then they have games like the ones they had against Jacksonville in London and they look like a middle of the road college team from the Pac-12. This team is bipolar when it comes to how they play. To be honest, this weekend, I do not think the Ravens have to bring an A+ type game to get the win against the Bears. If Baltimore can force Mitch Trubisky to beat them then they should bode well. If the Chicago running game gets going, then I could see this contest going down to the wire. As for the offense, the Ravens need Joe Flacco to play like the quarterback that won them a Super Bowl a few years ago. Not the guy that so far has only thrown four touchdowns and six interceptions. This has to improve not only for this weekend, but it has to improve if Baltimore has any desire to win the AFC North or even win a Wild Card Berth.

I really do not like this game, I have no desire to bet on it…and I won’t, but if I had to make a pick, I think 6.5 points are too much. I am not sold that either team is worthy of a playoff spot and I think this game could go either way. I do think Baltimore gets the win, but I think the final score is along the lines of 20-16 in favor of the Ravens. Be sure to check the injury report on this one first, as the Bears linebackers were beat up last week. If a bunch of defensive players are OUT, pass on this one all-together as it could be the Buck Allen show. Speaking of Buck Allen, he’s a great play in DFS (Draftkings) with a salary of only $5400.
