The AFC North offers up a good grudge match to watch and bet on when the Browns battle the Ravens on Sunday afternoon in Baltimore. Both teams are playing winning ball as of late, led by the top two defenses in Football. Can the Ravens cover a short touchdown? Or can Cleveland keep this one close?

NFL Betting Lines

The Week 10 NFL betting market opened Baltimore at -5.5 for Sunday over Cleveland, with an over/under of right around 38. Early betting action then edged the Ravens to -6.

Browns-Ravens Betting Preview

Cleveland, somewhat quietly, is 3-1 both SU and ATS over its last four games after blanking punchless Arizona last Sunday 27-0. The Browns, with Deshaun Watson back at QB, took the lead for good with a field goal early in the second quarter, led 13-0 at the half, then pulled away in the second half and covered at -13.

Cleveland only produced 328 yards of total offense last week, 108 of which came on two plays. But that No. 1-ranked Browns defense held the Cardinals, who were playing a rookie making his first NFL start at QB, to just 58 total yards.

Four games ago, Cleveland handed San Francisco its first defeat of this season 19-17. The Browns then beat Indianapolis 39-38 on a late touchdown, then lost to Seattle 24-20 on a late Seahawks TD. On the season, Cleveland has already played four games decided by four points or less.

At 5-3 overall, the Browns trail division-leading Baltimore by a game and a half – and a tie-breaker – in the AFC North. But Cleveland also occupies the No. 5 spot in the AFC playoff standings.

Meanwhile, the Ravens roll a four-game winning streak into Sunday after stuffing Seattle last Sunday 37-3. Baltimore, favored by 6.5 points, scored the first 14 points of the game and led 17-3 at the half. The Ravens then pulled away from there as their No. 2-ranked defense held the Seahawks out of the end zone all day.

Baltimore out-gained Seattle 515-151, out-rushed the Seahawks 298-28, and dominated time of possession by a 40:20 split.

Five weeks ago, the Ravens lost at Pittsburgh 17-10. Since then, they’ve beaten Tennessee, Detroit, Arizona, and Seattle by an average score of 33-12.

At 7-2 overall, Baltimore trails Kansas City by a tie-breaker in the battle for the best record in the AFC.

Common Opponents

These teams have played six common opponents this season, the Bengals, Steelers, Titans, Colts, Seahawks, and Cardinals. Cleveland played those foes to 4-2 both SU and ATS and +127 yards per game, Baltimore to 4-2 SU, 3-3 ATS, and +111 YPG.

Browns-Ravens Recent History

These rivals have split their last four meetings, both SU and ATS. Most recently, back in Week 4 of this season, Baltimore won at Browns Stadium 28-3. However, Cleveland was forced to go with rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson at QB that day in place of the injured Watson.

Free NFL Betting Pick

At first glance, we thought Baltimore was probably the pick for this game. However, after further consideration, these teams appear to be closer than that spread might indicate. Watson is supposedly healthy, Cleveland is still running the ball well even after losing RB Chubb to injury, and the defense is limiting foes to just 235 YPG. Also, the Browns actually own the better performance this season against common opponents. We’re unsure if they’ll win this game outright, but we like Cleveland plus the points.
