The New York Giants will continue its NFC conference play as the East takes on the South when Big Blue heads to the Sunshine State to meet with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The two teams last met in Tampa in 2015 when the Giants cruised to a 32-18 victory. Overall, the G-Men have won the last five contests between both sides. The festivities are set to kick off at 4:05 PM ET live from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The contest will be aired for regional demographics on FOX.

The Giants come in off a bitter loss against arch rival Philadelphia, last Sunday. Big Blue trailed by as much as 13 points before they would score 14 unanswered. The final score of the match was 27-24, Eagles. The storyline surrounding that game was the New York receiving corps finally getting its act together. Featured playmaker Odell Beckham, Jr. led the way with two reception touchdowns. Sterling Shephard picked up 133 receiving yards and a score himself and Brandon Marshall would snag eight grabs for 66 yards, as well. Despite quarterback Eli Manning throwing for 366 yards and three touchdowns, he was picked off twice which alerts many that the veteran signal caller may be losing his touch. Ultimately, the Giants defense played an excellent complement to their offensive operations as they limited Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz to 176 passing yards and only one touchdown. There is some talent on Philadelphias rolls as well yet none of their wide receivers could ever get going. Nevertheless, the Birds from the City of Brotherly Love generated the opportunities it needed to send the Giants packing. The G-Men now stand winless on the year but managed to generate a cover as a five-point road underdog.

The Buccaneers come in off a thrashing sustained by the Minnesota Vikings in the Twin Cities, last Sunday. The Bucs would fall by a score of 34-17. On the year, we have only seen Tampa take the field twice. Their opening fixture would be a win against the Chicago Bears on September 17th when they won 29-7. In this scenario, the Buccaneers were a seven-point home favorite. They would cover easily. Against the Vikings, Tampa Bay was a virtual pick-em as a one-point pup. The market has had fully gauged this team yet but nevertheless their one win this year was an impressive one at home. The Buccaneers are an interesting bunch from a defensive standpoint. They are among the best in defending the run (4th nationally) but are the worst in defending the pass (31st overall). With the Giants receiving corps erupting against Philadelphia, some believe that the Buccaneers maybe set up for a terrible day at the office given the change in the Giants offensive approach. However, the Buccaneers have some weapons of their own. Most notably, standout-receiver Mike Evans who is now on a short list of premier wide-outs in all of the NFL. Some suggest he is the next big thing at this position and will one day be known as the best in the league.

In the early stages, we have noticed a lean on the Giants, likely as a reaction to the quality of the defeat between both squads on Sunday. A hard-fought loss looks far more easier on the eye than a blowout. The contrasting narratives has enticed action on the G-Men in the build-up be that this market has already diminished by 1.5 points. A bit more juice is required to take Tampa Bay at its current price, be that the figure is -115 as opposed to a traditional vig. As revealed, 92% of the cash have come in on the Giants complemented by 60% of the ticket action. 60% of the consensus also fancy Big Blue in this equation. As a result, we have an opportunity to take a likely short-priced favorite at home. As long as the Giants continue to play sloppy football, they are a very tough team to trust in any capacity. Tampa Bay was regarded by some to be a wild-card contender in 2017. With a win, they are back in the fold and discussion, acquiring a triumph against one of the NFLs biggest disappointments so far this season.
