This Sunday in Chicago there is a pretty meaningless game that will take place in Soldier Field when the 3-8 San Francisco 49ers come in to take on the Chicago Bears who are 5-6. Neither team will be in the playoffs most likely, but this should still be an interesting game to check out. Last season, these two met in San Francisco, and the Bears got the road win 28-20 on the road. Can the Niners even the score this year?

Just like last year, the Bears enter this game with the 49ers as a touchdown favorite. The Bears covered in last years game on the road and many believe they will again this year. 64% of the action is on the Bears to take care of business at home. Another 56% think that this game stays under the posted total of 43 combined points. On the season, the Bears are just 5-6 but against the spread they have actually done well covering in seven of their eleven games in 2015. San Francisco however is 5-6 against the spread to go along with a horrible 3-8 overall record.p>

I knew coming into 2015 that the San Francisco 49ers would have a bit of a let down season. Half their defense is gone, Jim Harbaugh left for Michigan, and Colin Kaepernick was a gimmick from day one that the league caught up to. With that said, I never thought they would be this bad at all. I say them finishing the season 7-9 or something like that, but I see no reason to think that these guys may not win another game. Now of course I am sure they will and I can see them at 5-11 or so but still, this is a bad year for the niners. Statistically, these guys are even worse than their record. San Francisco ranks dead last in points scored per game with 13.yes, they AVERAGE 13 points a game. Awful. On the defensive side, things are not much better. The 49ers defense is allowing opponents to score almost 25 a game which ranks them in the bottom half of the league. Dead last offense + a bad defense is not a good recipe in the NFL. There is however a small glimmer of a bright side for the 49ers and that is the new starting quarterback, Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert is 1-2 since taking over for Kaepernick, who got benched before the Falcons game. 1-2 is not an impressive win loss record, but Gabbert is playing pretty good ball and it appears that he is improving week to week and could potentially enter next season as the starter. This weekend in Chicago, Gabbert needs to be on point. Scoring 13 points will not get the job done. The 49ers offense needs to click and at least score in the 20-23 point range to have any shot of winning and/or covering this game.

For the last few years, the Bears are just a mystery to me. I never know what to expect. This past week was a prime example when they went into Lambeau and beat the Packers in a prime time match up. No one saw that coming, but this weekend, I would not be shocked if San Francisco came in and took down the Bearsyou just never know what to expect. In 2015, the Bears have the 19th ranked scoring defense and the 21st ranked scoring offense. Getting a win over the 49ers this Sunday should not be too tough, but to cover a touchdown spread, that could be tricky. If Cutler throws picks or if the Bears give up some points to San Francisco, I could see this game being closer than expected. The Bears need to pounce early and get the 49ers out of the building or by 4:30pm San Francisco will have their 4th win of 2015.

This is going to be an ugly game. I can already tell. San Francisco has not won a road game all season and I do not see them getting a win over the Bears, but I do like them enough to keep this game closer than expected. The public is high on the Bears after their win over the Packers, which puts me on letdown alert against a lesser opponent. The Bears will squeak out a 20-16 win over the 49ers, but San Fran gets the cover.

Bobs Pick to Cover the Point Spread: Take the San Francisco 49ers +7 points
