The Tampa Bay Buccaneers dropped their 4th straight game last week in a dramatic 39-37 loss to the Houston Texans. The Buccaneers actually held the lead late in the 4th quarter but gave up their 5th passing touchdown to opposing QB C.J Stroud with just 40 seconds to go in the game, which ultimately sealed the defeat. At 3-5 SU, the Buccaneers have now fallen to 3rd in the NFC South in what has become one of the weakest divisions in the NFC. Previously thought to be a frontrunner in the division, the Buccaneers are in desperate need to turn the tables when they host the Tennessee Titans this weekend at Raymond James Stadium.

The visiting Tennessee Titans have endured a roller coaster start to the season. At 3-5 SU, the Titans have suffered injuries at the quarterback position but also have perhaps found their starting quarterback in rookie Will Levis. Levis burst onto the scene in Week 9 and got the passing game rolling with three touchdown passes to WR DeAndre Hopkins. Last week, Levis showed both positives and negatives in a tough 20-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite the loss, the Titans appeared committed to Levis going forward, and perhaps the emergence of a passing threat will benefit the offense throughout the remainder of the season!

Tennessee Titans vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Betting Analysis

This Sunday’s matchup between the Titans and Buccaneers will be very intriguing schematically. The Titans’ offense has seemingly always favored the rushing attack behind RB Derrick Henry. However, the Titans will be faced with a fairly strong run defense in Tampa Bay. Barring a breakout performance from Henry, this will possibly be another true test for the young rookie quarterback against a relatively weak Buccaneers secondary. As a result, I think the Titans’ success resides primarily on the play of the rookie quarterback.

As we have learned in recent weeks, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are not great on either side of the ball. However, the Buccaneers find ways to be competitive, and QB Baker Mayfield continues to play at a solid level despite the criticism. The Buccaneer’s biggest weakness is the rushing attack, where they have been unable to get anything going on the ground. Ironically, Tennessee has been strongest against the run, which means Mayfield will get to take aim at a Titans secondary that has struggled significantly against the pass. Oddly enough, this is an ideal matchup for WR Mike Evans, who consistently produces top 5 WR results weekly.

Tennessee Titans vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Betting Prediction

The betting total for this matchup is currently listed at 38.5 points, which is among the lowest total for any week ten matchup in the NFL. Personally, I don’t see any reason for the extremely low number. Both offenses have ideal matchups at the quarterback position. If both quarterbacks play decent, we should hit this “over” with ease.
