Last week, the Pittsburgh Steelers picked up their 2nd straight victory with a 19-16 win over the Atlanta Falcons, marking the first time this year the Steelers have won back-to-back games. At 5-7 SU, the Steelers are out of playoff contention, but that is not too surprising, considering the 2022 campaign was going to be difficult in the wake of Ben Roethlisberger’s departure. In many ways, these last few weeks of the season will be focused on trying to get QB Kenny Pickett more valuable experience and rebuilding the franchise. On Sunday, the Steelers will get the opportunity to go after a 3rd straight victory when they host the Baltimore Ravens at Acrisure Stadium.
The visiting Baltimore Ravens pulled out a tough 10-9 victory over the Denver Broncos last week to bounce back from their week 12 loss against the Jaguars. As a result, Baltimore has racked up wins in 5 of the last six games and is currently tied with the Cincinnati Bengals at 8-4 SU for the top spot in the AFC North. However, last week’s victory over the Broncos proved to be costly as QB Lamar Jackson went down with a knee injury. Jackson suffered what is being described as a PCL sprain and is officially considered “week to week.” While nothing has officially been declared for this week’s showdown with the Steelers, the general consensus is that Jackson will likely be held out of competition, meaning QB Tyler Huntley is expected to get the nod behind center which is evident in the fact that Ravens are actually slight 2.5 point underdogs for their road trip to Pittsburgh.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Analysis
If we assume that QB Tyler Huntley will be under center this weekend, I find this match-up very intriguing. For starters, Huntley has done a relatively good job filling in for Jackson during previous injury concerns. In last week’s game against the Broncos, Huntley completed 27 of 32 passing for 187 yards with one interception and added another 40 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Despite the turnover, those are pretty impressive numbers, and let’s not ignore the fact that Pittsburgh’s defense has been among the bottom units in the league this season. Additionally, the Ravens are likely going to get RB J.K. Dobbins back this week to boost the efforts in the backfield. Dobbins has been sidelined for most of the season with injuries but is expected to make a return from a knee scoping procedure performed back in October, and he could be an immediate threat in the Ravens backfield.
For the Steelers, I believe this is also a pretty solid match-up for the Steelers’ struggling offense. The Ravens have been dreadful against the passing attack this season which means QB Kenny Pickett will likely get to sling it around. WR George Pickens immediately comes into the conversation as a potential breakout player this week. The rookie has been really impressive in the Steelers’ inefficient offense this season but may provide their biggest advantage in the match-ups department on Sunday. Add in the receiving threats of Diontae Johnson and TE Pat Freiermuth; the Steelers have the personnel to attack this Baltimore Ravens’ defense. If Pickett delivers, this is definitely a winnable match-up.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Prediction
I really wanted to take the Ravens when I first saw this betting line, but I do believe the match-ups support the fact the Steelers are surprising yet slight favorites. The Steelers should have more success this week moving the football, and I believe they will create more scoring opportunities. With that said, I do believe Tyler Huntley will play well, and I also believe odds makers have overreacted to Jackson’s injury with the mere 37-point total. This game has a lot more scoring potential than the odds suggest. As a result, I’m taking the over here with confidence!
