The Buffalo Bills will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a NFC/AFC clash set to take place New Era Field at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, New York on Sunday, October 22nd. Overall, the Buccaneers have won three of the last four contests between both sides. Nevertheless, relevancy has to come into question be that the last collision between both was in 2013. The game is set for kick off at 1:05 PM EST and will be aired for regional audiences on FOX.
The Bucs have been a bankroll crusher in 2017. Tampa Bay has failed to cover in their last four outings and are just 1-6 ATS the last seven offerings. The Buccaneers fell behind by 24 points in Arizona but managed to reduce the deficit to five before falling 38-33. At the close, the Buccaneers were a 2.5-point favorite spotting the points to Arizona in Phoenix. The last three games the Bucs were involved in were settled my margins of five points or less. Most notably, Tampa Bays two wins this season were against the New York Giants and Chicago Bears. Tampa Bay features some young talent that have caused many eyes to raise. Most notably, wide receiver Mike Evans who many have placed on a short list of the games best wide-outs. However, Buffalos defense is currently the leagues best unit. If anyone can curtail Evans it would be the Bills.
The Bills come in off a 20-16 loss at Cincinnati but they own two impressive victories to bolster their resume in 2017. In back-to-back games, the Bills own wins at Atlanta and in Denver. The result of these two contests is certainly bound to create a heightened sense of enthusiasm around this football team. On the year, the Bills have been a cash cow against the spread and have yielded even more profits on the Money Line. After falling to Cincy, the Bills are marginally priced as a favorite at home. The assessment of this contest is that if it were on a neutral site, the game would be a toss-up. Given the performance portfolios of both parties, many are likely savoring at that thought when it comes to the Bills.
Notably, warm weather teams such as Tampa Bay are bound to struggle in hostile environments such as Buffalo. Though it is mid-October, the temperatures can already begin to plummet. This can upset the alchemy of teams like the Bucs who are climatized to more favorable and friendlier conditions. However, this ideology is one that is a trending idea and commonly used. The fact remains the market assessment of these two teams is too good to be true given how both teams have done so far this year. The results purveyed by Tampa Bay compared to Buffalo are quite contrasting.
From the get-go there has been little activity to document. What we have seen is an extraordinary amount of juice placed upon the Bills at this price. Some markets have offered the -3 number with a tag of -130. This can entice a lot of action on Tampa Bay or cause takers to pay a hefty fee to take Buffalo at the affable wage. With all of these considerations taken into the equation, many red flags have been raised.
As a result of what we have seen taking form in this market, we have an opportunity to take advantage of the fact that these two teams that are due for market correction. Tampa Bay should begin to yield some profits while Buffalo should be expected to take a step back. This contest seems like the crossroads for such an event to materialize. From a conservative perspective Tampa Bay with the points seems like the appropriate call. While we will stick to that, we also recommend taking a look at Tampa Bay on the Money Line. In trading the field goal, takers can get an enhanced return if the Bucs pull the upset. Given the fact, the line is a low one there is no reason to surmise that Tampa cannot beat Buffalo outright.
