College basketball is back, and our capper comes out of the gate with a best bet pick on the opening game for both clubs. Check it out.
Baylor after going 24-1 has lost three of their last five games. That said one of the games over that stretch was against K-State who they easily dispatched 85-66. KSU does come into this match on a mini two game win streak and four game streak covering the number.
Xavier comes into this game on a two-game slide straight up and are riding a 1-4 against the spread streak. They did beat DePaul at home by 11 and by 8 at Wintrust Arena. They’ll now both play on the road in a neutral site game at Madison Square Gardens. The line seems on the low side with the Musketeers favored by four points, but they’ve been eating their backers money all season long.
The St. Mary’s Gaels are up against it in Vegas Tuesday night. They’ve given valiant efforts in beating Pepperdine in double overtime and BYU by a point, however, they have no insider presence, and this is going to be the difference-maker against a Zags team that has dominated them in four of the last five meetings. Not even the brilliance of Randy Bennett and offensive prowess of Jordan Ford will prevent Gonzaga from cutting the nets down tonight!
Dating back to last season the last three meetings between these two clubs were decided by five or fewer points making a point spread call on this game a difficult call. I’d take the points if you twisted my arm, but I think the best play in this game is on the total.
The WCC Semi-Final match between San Francisco and Gonzaga will be the third meeting this between the clubs. Zaga took both earlier matches, winning at home by 17 and on the road by 4. This time around the game is on a neutral court where the Dons have prospered against the spread with a 5-1-1 record over their last 7. Read on to get Dan’s take.
