Jon Jones 25-1 (10 KOs, 6 Submissions), one of the UFC’s most decorated champions, looks to defend his light heavyweight championship against the undefeated Dominick Reyes, 12-0 (7 KOs, 2 Submissions). Jones comes into this one as a moderate -440 favorite, which immediately tells us that bookmakers are suspicious of his left hand, which can instantly end a fight when landed.
The NFL’s version of David vs. Goliath takes place in the Divisional Playoffs Saturday night night at MT&T Bank Stadium as the Baltimore Ravens play host to the Tennessee Titans as hefty -9 favorites. Winners of 12 in a row, the Ravens pretty much blew out all but two opponents during that stretch, with the exceptions being the Bills and Niners, a pair of running teams. Can Derrick Henry keep the Cinderella dream alive?
The Vikings shut down the Saints offense for the majority of the game. They are banged up in the secondary so a repeat this week in the Divisional Round may be a difficult task. That said they have proven all season that they can shut down TEs and may be able to limit SF’s best weapon George Kittle.
There’s a common misconception that the Seattle Seahawks suck on the road. Most aren’t seemingly aware that the Hawks went 7-1 away from home this season. The Eagles come into this NFC Wildcard game winners of four games in a row, but that’s not as impressive as it sounds when you see that they beat the Skins, Cowboys and Giants twice. The public is heavy on the Seahawks and they might be right!
The Raiders are up against it in Week 17, despite having an outside shot of making the playoffs. This will be a revenge game for the Denver Broncos, winners of three out of their last four games, who are looking to close out the season strong.
One of the fishiest point spreads of the season comes into play Sunday when the Philadelphia Eagles visit the New York Giants. Trap game, bad line, etc, whatever you wanna call it, don’t get duped into being on the wrong side of this line. Loot explains why the Giants are the bet here.
With Derrick Henry being banged up, can we really expect the Titans to be able to get past that after relying on him so much to get them to where they are? The re-emergence of Texans defensive end JJ Watt may give Houston the emotional boost it needs to come out on top in this one.
There are numerous factors that could result in the Chiefs calling off the dogs, so this game is very weak with regards to betting value. With that being said, KC will likely start out strong “just in case” to assure that they get the best possible position in the playoffs.
Am I the only one who hates betting on these football teams? The best way to handicap this Week 16 matchup is to crap out two turds, write each team’s name on one, throw it at the wall and see which makes the bigger splatter! Helter Skelter/Jeckyll and Hyde are two things that come to mind Sunday when these teams meet. NOBODY can feel good about putting their hard earned money on this one!
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is projected to “have himself a day” Sunday at Qwest Field as the Arizona Cardinals secondary is a cross between a wet paper bag and a bug splattering on a windshield. I’d be more than surprised if one of the Hawks wide receivers AND the tight end position don’t go over 100 yards with at least a touchdown from each position.
