MLB Picks
Houston Astros at St. Louis Cardinals Pick 7/27/19
Gerrit Cole has been fantastic this season with a 77.3% QS rating. He’s hasn’t faced the Cardinals team since 2017, but he does have solid historical numbers against a half dozen current St. Louis players. Is this enough to play the Astros at a big -180 price? MLB capper Jamison weighs out a few angles and feels that one team stands out on the value index.
Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies Pick 7/26/19
The visiting Braves opened as a -125 favorite at some books with Mike Soroka getting the start. The Phillies go with Jake Arrieta who pitched well in his lone start against Atlanta this season. There may be some value in backing the home side tonight. Zank breaks it all down and gives out his projected winner.
New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox Pick 7/26/19
The Yankees will try to rebound off a disastrous outing by Tanaka in the series opener. They have the edge in the pitching match-up with Paxton having a considerable edge in pitcher vs. batter statistics over Cashner’s historical numbers versus the Yankees line-up. Read on to get Jamison’s betting opinion and suggested wager.
New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox Pick 7/25/19
The Yankees have had the upper hand this season versus the Red Sox taking six of seven meetings. Today’s starters Masahiro Tanaka and Rick Porcello were the starters back in a June 29th match in England and were roughed up for six runs a piece in a 17-12 New York win. Will the scorekeeper get a workout again or will one of the starters step up their game? Get our capper’s take and moneyline pick.
New York Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins Pick 7/24/19
The Yankees rallied for seven runs against the Twins bullpen to take a 14-12 win last night. Tonight they play the rubber match at Target Field with the Twins starting Jake Odorizzi (6-0 at home) and the Yanks giving the ball to J.A. Happ (3-0 on the road). Zank digs into some of the key match-up stats and gives out his top pick.
New York Yankees at Minnesota Twins Prediction 7/23/19
Minnesota roughed up Yankees starter CC Sabathia for seven runs (6 earned) in the opener to draw first blood in 8-6 victory. This time around the runs may be scarcer with Domingo German getting the start for New York and Kyle Gibson getting the honors for Minnesota. MLB prognosticator Dan Jamison weighs out the matchup and points out a couple of key trends to back up his suggested bet.
Boston Red Sox at Tampa Bay Rays Pick 7/22/19
Boston and Tampa meet up tonight with both clubs not playing at their peak. Boston just dropped two of three at Baltimore and the Rays have lost five of their last six and have hit a meager .204 over their last seven games. The Rays have scored two or fewer runs in four of their last five games. On the bright side for the Red Sox, Eduardo Rodriguez has pitched well as of late, allowing only 4 earned runs in his last 18 innings which is good for a 1.96 ERA and 0.98 WHIP. Conversely, the Rays have beaten the Sox five our of the last six meetings. Check out Dan’s take on how this one will play out.
Washington Nationals vs. Atlanta Braves Pick 7/21/19
The linesmaker has set the total line at 11.5 runs which is no surprise considering the probables Joe Ross for the Nats and Kevin Gausman for the Braves. Handicapper Darin Zank calls the starters a wash, but a couple of stats stood out for him in his research. Check out his detailed analysis of some key metrics and get his projected moneyline winner.
Milwaukee Brewers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Pick 7/20/19
Arizona starter Zack Grienke has pitched well against the Brewers projected lineup holding them to a career .220 batting average. He is coming off a poor outing in his latest, but that outing was after extended rest due to the All-Star break. Zank analyzes the starters plus a slew of other metrics to come up with his play on tonight’s game.
Texas Rangers at Houston Astros Pick 7/20/19
The Astros got a strong start by Justin Verlander to win the series opener but the it’s a big drop down to rookie Jose Urquidy who is expected to start today for Houston. The rookie right-hander has certainly not impressed in his two career starts but is that enough to play the Rangers tonight? Read on to get our handicapper’s game analysis and prediction.
New York Mets vs. San Francisco Giants Pick 7/19/19
The Mets will look to even up the series tonight in the second of four games in San Francisco against the Giants. deGrom gets the ball for the Mets while Tyler Beede gets the starting honors for the Giants. Read on to see who holds the edges in a variety of key stats for this game.
Colorado Rockies at New York Yankees Pick 7/19/19
The Rockies come into this on a downward slide dropping four straight and eight of their last ten. Their fate doesn’t look likely to change tonight when they send out lefty Kyle Freeland who has been horrendous this season. Capper Dan breaks it all down and gives out his free pick to bet.
Tampa Bay Rays vs. New York Yankees Pick 7/18/19
In the final of two games between the Rays and the Yankees today we have Morton versus Happ getting the starts. New York has owned Tampa bay this season winning 10 of the 15 matches, but come into this game on an impressive 3 -4 run over their last seven. Are the Yanks worth the small -125 price? Get our prognosticator’s take and free pick.
Houston Astros at Los Angeles Angels Pick 7/17/19
Houston and Los Angeles go at it again tonight in Anaheim with the projected starters Gerrit Cole for the Astros and Felix Pena for the Angels. The Astros have won the last four times Gerrit Cole has started against Angels and his career numbers against the current line-up are impressive, but long reliever Pena has done well primarily out of the pen. Will Dan back the hot arm or the hot team with today’s betting prediction?
Tampa Bay Rays at NY Yankees Pick 7/16/19
The Rays took the series opener which marked the third straight in this match-up. Tonight, they send out Ryan Stanek while New York goes with CC Sabathia who will be making his fifth start against Tampa Bay this season. The Yanks are once again in the favorite role with their bettors being asked to lay -160. Is there any value in betting the Rays at a big price or are the Yanks the way to go? Dan weighs out the match-up and provides his game pick.
