Houston will go with Jose Urquidy as there starter in Game 4 as they look to tie the series up. The Astros right-hander has just two bullpen appearances in the last month and in his career has faced just one Nats hitter. The Nationals can put the Astros in a precarious position with a win tonight in Game 2. They send out Stras-burg who doesn’t have a huge sample size, but he has pitched well against the Houston batters and holds the statistical advantage over Astros starter Verlander. The Nats come into this game razor sharp, winners of six straight but have had an extended rest period after wrapping up their series with Cards back on the 15th. Houston needed six games to get past the Yankees and will have had only a couple of rest days before Tuesday night’s Game. Dan digs into the angles and trends and gives out his suggested wager.

This looks like a no-brainer with Justin Verlander going for the Astros and a struggling James Paxton getting the ball for the Yanks. Keep in mind though that Verlander got tagged for four runs in 3 2/3 innings against the Rays in the ALDS on the short rest and will be in the same situation tonight. This game might be the hardest to predict in the series because nobody knows if there’s going to be a game at all. Massive storms remain in the forecast for New York on Wednesday, and the rain isn’t supposed to let up until around 2 a.m. on Thursday.

The Cardinals send out Dakota Hudson to try to avoid the sweep while the Nats counter with lefty Corbin. Both pitchers have strong back numbers against their opponent’s line-ups, but Hudson has the better stats this season. Is St. Louis the logical pick at plus odds?
