NFL Football Picks

The Chargers collapsed last week on the road against the Broncos and return home to face the Raiders. The line opened at LAC -2.5 and has fallen to just -1 as Raiders bettors have come out big time. Is the public right on this game, or can the Herbert air it out against a defense that has given up over 300 yards three times this season?

Are the Miami Dolphins getting too much respect here as only +4.5 underdogs at Arizona? Or are they not getting enough respect because it’s possible that they’re playing as good or better football than the Cardinals? With Tua making his first NFL road start, Loot’s putting his cash on the Cards.

The Detroit Lions have the horses in the stable, but Matt Patricia doesn’t seem to be able to guide them to water. On the flip side, the Minnesota Vikings went into Lambeau last week and shoved it up the Packers’ gazoo. It’s not typical for a team to live or die by their running back, but that appears to be the case with Dalvin Cook. If you looked at the Week 9 opening line between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys and thought “what the hell!”, you weren’t the only one. While the Pokes were the right side last Sunday night (fluke fumble!), they aren’t getting any better and the Steelers are probably the worst matchup they could possibly face right now.

KC laying only -12 vs. the Panthers at Arrowhead may be a gift from the heavens. The Panthers can’t stop the run, which is going to be a disaster as the Chiefs run game will set up the pass and they’ll be on their heels all day. Look for Andy Reid and KC to serve up NFL bettors another blowout in Week 9.

The Denver Broncos pulled off a miracle comeback by scoring 21 points in the 4th quarter last week to get the win. Things won’t be as easy in Week 9, against a Falcons team who are playing much more inspired football after Raheem Morris has taken over. Get Jay’s Den/Atl pick here!

The Packers got destroyed on their home field by the Vikings last week. Minnesota did so by running the ball down the Pack’s throat. Week 8 MNF pits the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. the New York Giants. Oddsmakers have installed TB has -10.5 favorites, which is surprising, considering how bad the G-Men have played this season. Get Dan’s TB/NYG pick here!

It’s rare to see these NFC East foes with a spread of over a touchdown, but it’s warranted, as the Dallas Cowboys are that bad. If Dalvin Cook plays in Week 8, it’ll keep the game closer, but shouldn’t be a spread changing occurrence, as Aaron Rodgers is on top of his game right now and is likely employ an arial attack against a Vikings team with sub-par cornerbacks and safeties. In most cases, the run sets up the pass. In this case, the pass will setup the run and that spells BIG trouble for Mike Zimmer and the Minnesota Vikings.
