NFL Football Picks

Round II of the Browns/Steelers bout takes place Sunday, which will garner much more interest from fans than normal, with hopes of yet more chaos, punches and helmet conking. While it’s unlikely anything exciting happens between large men, there should be some action between us and the bookies. Mason Rudolph being benched mid-game last week was a good thing, however, it creates chemistry issues as Devlin Hodges won’t be as in tune with his rececivers, or will he, as most of these guys were part of the second unit early in the season and that’s who he’s mostly practiced with!

We all know that the Dolphins have been a trainwreck this season. However, they have been playing much better as of late. The Eagles have issues as well. Enough problems where this Week 13 spread of +9 has some nice wagering value. Furthermore, I always like fading teams that go from playing in 40 degree weather to 82 degree weather. It’s taxing on a player’s body and can create all kinds of nasty issues that we can use to our advantage. The Phins are one of my best bets and are a live barking dog. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Miami win straight up here.

The Falcons were playing great football before getting destroyed at home vs. Tampa Bay. Their secondary got absolutely smoked by Chris Godwin. One would think Drew Brees and company would come in and serve them up another ass-whoopin, but Brees hasn’t been throwing down field as much in his old and age the Saints barely got by a struggling Saints team. The Falcons might be Week 13’s underdog of the week!

The second game of Thursday’s NFL Thanksgiving card features a Bills team that has leaky run defense vs. the Cowboys who will surely be unleashing Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard at a higher rate than normal. It’s unlikely the Pokes will have to deal with any “stuffing” Thursday!

Christmas comes early for us degenerate gamblers Thanksgiving Day as festivities kick of with the Bears vs. Lions at Ford Field. Many thought the loss of Matthew Stafford would make Detroit non-competitive, however, Jeff Driskel is no Turkey! (get it?) The Lions got beat last week on the road vs. a hungry Skins team and the Bears “Bearly” got by the NYG at home last week. Don’t let those results skew your opinion of this week’s game as there’s only one way to bet this game!

The Green Bay Packers have quietly put up on of the best records in the NFL at 8-2. Week 12 MNF promises to be an exciting game as the 49ers have been overachieving as well. Aaron Rodgers and the Pack are likely to be a tough opponent after a bye. Check out Keith’s prediction with analysis!

The time to bet on a team is when you’ve bet them all season and they’ve put you in the poor house and you’re thinking about stopping betting on them! As crazy as this sounds, it’s the truth. I’ve been on the Redskins a TON and they’ve shoved it up my gazoo almost every time. Point spreads are based on public perception and EVERYBODY hates the Skins at this point in the season. They actually match up pretty well with a fading Detroit team suffering multiple injuries to skill position players.

If you’ve watched Cleveland Browns games this season, the thought of laying double digit points with a Freddie Kitchens led team is laughable. This coach makes bad decisions time after time. I have also watched all the Miami Dolphins games this season and as crazy as it sounds, they’ve gotten better each game. Check out Loot’s take on this Week 12 barn-burner!

Anybody notice how bad the Cowboys defense was last week vs. a bad Detroit team with a journeyman QB at the helm? Here’s how this one plays out… Bill Belichick always takes the opponents best player away (Elliott in this case). At first glance, the Jags vs. Titans game appears to be Week 12’s toughest bet to crack. The closer you look, the more the Titans look like a solid bet. Jacksonvile struggles to stop the run, they’re in a revenge spot, they’ve got ownage at home vs. Jax and Mike Vrabel is an up and coming coach. Jacksonville has Foles back, but he’s rusty and that’s no good because timing is important. Derrick Henry is primed for a big day!
