NFL Football Picks

The San Francisco 49ers are a good football team. They’ve overcome some giant hurdles with regards to injuries, yet they still keep on ticking. The Seahawks are obviously a good squad as well, despite having a weak defense. There are quite a few better games to bet in Week 8, as this game lacks value due to no clear path to winning. Loot gives Predictem readers his take on who he thinks will cover.

Our tendency as football bettors is to bet on anything and everything we can, to provide fun, entertainment and enjoyment. That is, until we lose! As noted with a couple other Week 8 NFL titles, there’s not a heck of a lot of wagering value here. It’d be nice to have Dan come in here with a chest thumping prediction, but this came is somewhat of a coin flip. In this preview, he gives you his best take on who he thinks will cover the spread. Week 8 is going to be tough for bettors. The Sportsbooks got absolutely clocked last week and are likely to get it all back, and them some with these coin flip point spreads we’re seeing this week. The NE/Buf game is another example of our office being divided. The Pats have looked like hot garbage. Buffalo hasn’t looked great either. My take is that Bill Belichick is going to run the ball down Buffalo’s throat. Mike likes the Bills to cover. Tough week!

One of the reasons most NFL bettors lose is because they bet too many games. Wagering on too many games is flat out gambling. Placing bets only when you have an edge is the way to win long term. This game (as do many) falls into the category of “flip a coin” on who will win, much less cover the point spread. Our office is divided and you should be too, as this is a total crapshoot. It’s Tua Time! The rookie QB has a great shot of winning (and covering his first spread!) Sunday when the Dolphins welcome a Rams team that will be off a short week and traveling east, playing an early game. Don’t be fooled by the past. The Dolphins are a good team and are playing good ball as of late. All those first round draft picks are coming to fruition. A Dolphins pick may very well be the Week 8 value bet of the week!

The Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens matchup has been one of the best in the NFL over the past few years. Balt. has held a slight edge since Lamar Jackson became their starter, winning three of the last four in the matchup. The Sportsbooks have installed the Ravens as -3.5 favorites Sunday in what should be Week 8’s most exciting game. Get Loot’s Pit/Bal pick here!

After 7 Weeks of NFL football, the opinion of most wiseguys is the Colts are overrated/overvalued and the Lions are trending in the right direction. A running back doesn’t make a team, however, DeAndre Swift will provide a much needed boost to the Detroit run game as he’s head and shoulders better than any back the Lions have put on the field since the retirement of Barry Sanders! It’s not often that we see an NFL point spread this high (-20). It’s even more rare to see a team cover a number this high. Truth be told, KC could DOUBLE this number! A final score of 50-10 is a possibility here!
